hey guys. its been a while. anyway, i am buying new car really soon, anyway, if i buy a convertable. most of the time the back seats don't fold down, or there are no back seats.. and there is a large "something" inbetween the trunk and the interier. so what do i do.. do people actually cut through it?? it may be a dumb question, but is it do-able, if no what else can i do????

it is do able... but it voids the warranty

i would like to see someone build a bandpass in the trunk and run the port through the metal divider
its probably been done but i havent seen it

I have done it with both covertable and a hardtop BMW as long as you build the enclosure coerrectly according to the sub or subs your using it's a great way to get bass into the cabin area without cutting out the whole thing.

No, you'll just get more sound in the front of the car.

I would build it first or throw a two sub box in the trunk from a bench amp and just listen to it if theres plenty of bass in there then don't cut anything.

Yep, it will be limited by the wall of metal for sure. If it were for a customer then I would try a box without cutting anything, but for yourself then I would cut it out and put in steel frame made from 1" x 1" square tubing or L shaped steel bar around the cutout area for reinforcement. You would then have no problems getting all your subs potential out.

May sound dumb but copy the bose design they put in Boxsters...then just upsize the amp and subs.
