I wanted to add basic digitial TV to my truck. It is a basic 2007 F150 supercrew.Thought about putting in a flip screen or headrest screens with a digitial coverter as the source. The truck has grey interior. Just wanted it for when I was late getting the wife home to watch her shows or for football game. Is the signal watchable?(dallas area 35 miles from transmiter. Normal tv is not so good. Suggestion on screen type, color match etc. What about systems that also plays games?
I don't want a fancy see me steal me systems. Just basic

Audiovox VOD102 might work for ya. very reliable compared to the dei, clarion, and concept screens.

the problem with DTV in a vehicle is that is doesn't work well while the receiver is moving. That's why most manufacturers haven't some out with a DTV tuner. You'll get clean clear reception for about a mile, then it will fade out for amile or two, then back in, etc. it wasn't designed to be used while moving. There is a phase shift in the signal if the receiver is moving.

Ahh, digital... When I used to have to pick up HD stations at home with an OTA antennae, it was very hit or miss. Not like analog at all. Analog becomes snowy with a poor signal. Digital it just drops completely. I imagine it's not very good in a moving vehicle, though if you're in a big city close to the broadcast point it might not be so bad?

I'll try it out first. Have the stuff for a rough lay on the back seat setup. I'll post the results with my 5" black and white with a converter and a homemade loop.
At the house, I get 27 digital station with an antenna lay on the closet floor.

I'll be interested in the results. Has got me wondering what people will do in cars when the DTV transition hits in February.

satellite television. Tracvision is sweet, but at the 3,000dollar pricetag, not worth it to me. And the flat dishes are huge and won't fit most vehicles. very sensitive and easy to damage as well.

well my home made antenna from a coathanger and clip jumpersgave an excellent pic most of the time with a few freezes. They don't bug me much put the sound freezing is hard to deal with. So with a good antenna I thing it would work fine. Great for watching the football games with the radio for sound till I make a 10 minite antenna.
