if ur there to straiten out the quality take all of the subs and throw them in the trash. next find out who ever changed all the sub designs to the garbage you make today and punch them in the mouth.

when the products were powerbase there was NO problems just good quality product. it looks like powerbass wanted more profit and went to a CHEAP manufacture. now take a old xs against a 3xl and test. 5yr olf tech should not be better than new but it is by FAR!

we didn't go to a different manufacturer. We own our factories. There were some differing opinions about where the product should go before I got here. I have serious issues with letting product go out the door with problems.

I know where I want the product to be, and I have already had several conversations with the VP's here about my standards, and what I will and will not compromise on.

Give me 9 months and you'll see a HUGE difference in both QC and appearance.

appearence dosent mean anything to me just loud and durable is what i look for in a subwoofer. it was just sad when they had very good designs and with changing just a couple soft part could hang with most any sub out there today.

the xs wasnt the loudest sub but what i called the best sounding "spl" woofer.

the es series had amazing sq and got loud 1.3cf with 14" aero tuned to 34hz.

the black series would handle double rated rms and the best budget sub out there.

corey..jay(powerbassusa) and i had a good little talk....he sounds straight. i will give him a little room. jay did not make powerbass suck...they did...but IF they are big enuff to get back to the pb roots, i would have to say thats a big step in the right direction. i told jay...step up and show them how to do......he knows that pb is not what it was. and he wants to get it were it needs to be. cant we give him a little slack?

i dont dislike him or anybody for that matter. all he needs to do is come out with a xs with foam surrond and little better spiders and keep the price around the same.

lets see what he can do. what subs did you design before working for powerbass?

If i am reading this correctly, he is saying powerbass subs can NOT be ran at 1ohm for daily? that doesnt say much for the product! If you think what impedance this guy had after the rise (usually fairly high in daily boxes) that is sad. This has nothing to do with the amp or the install. if the sub did infact burn due to high AC current running @ 1ohm then powerbass better re engineer their product.

^^ With all due respect quad.. you could make the absolute best product on the market and sell it for pennies on the dollar.. and I still wouldn't buy a sub called the "Crunk Rap Series".

It just sounds ridiculous and I'd be embarassed to show that dust-cap off in my car. [Freak]

We had a bad couple years with design and manufacturing. I have spent the last 2 months going through all of our product to straighten out any issues we have had. We are changing a LOT for the '09 model year. Some changes are unseen, like VC's and motors. Some are cosmetic. I have serious issues with high returns. I don't like it, so I'm fixing it. I'm looking for less than 5% in the coming years. This includes abuse defectives. I takes time to make changes, but I'm doing my best. Expect to see high quality product from us.

But I'm a big fan of rap music... I just don't think it's an appropriate name for a speaker line.

I'm just providing constructive criticism. I mean, if there are people who dislike the product based JUST on the name you're already cutting out part of your customer base before they've even looked at or tried the speakers. Seems a bit silly to intentionally do that, no? [Confused]

i see your points but from a marketing stand point that won't make $$$$ here in the U.S. it's about catch phase and culture thats one reason some companies are still around, i mean who is going to run out to buy brand x audio? it has no kick! but names like Kicker, rockford fosgate aka Punch! those names have a theme like it or not the name Crunk is big! there is now even a energy drink, lil John has the rights to alot of the Crunk name but 36 was one of the 1st.

you dont like high returns? last time i checked I tried to warrenty a powerbass xa-3000d because the caps fell off the board and one of the torroids shorted out on the case on an amp that was only a few months old but powerbass wouldn't warranty it, they blamed it on my install which they had never seen or heard about, kind of similar to what is happening in this topic. I think powerbass probably has the lowest return rate out of any car audio company because they wont warranty anything.

I had that happen to 2 or 3 of my 3k's and the wouldnt warranty it, and I was even part of "team powerbass" and bought direct from PB. I hope Jay can turn things around!

It would be really nice if this Jay guy could send me 6 of the 1200uF 160V caps, 6 of the mosfets from this amp, RA11, RA13, RA14, RA27, RA23 resistors ( could get the resistances if needed, aswell as one of the big power torroids on the side of the amp the RCA inputs are on. That would be really cool if he could send me parts to fix it myself or maybe even warranty it although the amp has been a paper weight for almost 2 years now, but until something like this was to happen I will continue to believe powerbass truely has bad service

it really is too bad a company with alot of potential to have a good competition team is sweeping problems like this under the carpet.
