what are you doing?? tried installing a set of SS 6x9s but the motor doesnt clean. Tried a adaptor plate but it doesnt clear the door panel. What are you guys doing or have done. Im hoping I can get a set of 5.25s to work

you have to go slim Dave. normal 6x9's are pretty deep. if ur going that route i would put in 6.5's. use a layer or 2 of dampener then cut some plates out of 1/4 ply and paint black. most of the 6x9 to 6.5's dont fit all 6.5's and you have to trim and they are weak...

you could look at the Boston SX95's. They have a pretty slim mount thanks to Neo magnets. I haven't tried them in this application though. 6.5's sound better anyways.
