I'm thinking about adding one of these to the current setup that I'm running. The reason for this is to boost the preamp signal to the amps. I've heard that this can add a gain in spl and is better for the amp to receive a higher volt signal to opperate on. I like the features of the epicenter also for bassrace runs. Each of these units offer a boosted preamp signal, but my question is which one is a better move when considering a higher spl score? Bassrace is also very important and thats why I'm kind of leaning towards the epicenter because it seems to be the best of both worlds. Can anyone shed some light on this topic for me? Thanks in advance. [Smile]

go with the maxxlink man. remote GAIN knob, not bassboost. 9V linedriver, has your subsonics filter and parametric bass EQ/bass. can also be used to strap

That is also an option. After all the trouble I've seen that Gavin is having with his I don't know if I'm smart enough to figure it out [Smile]

An epicenter will destroy woofers faster then any other piece of equipment if you aren't careful with it.

If all you need is a line driver, get a line driver or a maxxlink

they're easy. and the tech department at maxxsonics can always talk you through it if the manual doesn't explain it well enough. I've had no troubles with mine.

Maxxlink sounds like the right way to go. I don't actually need the option of the epicenter and was just really looking to boost the preamp signal. Right now the deck I have is putting out 2.2 volts on it's best day. I doubt that it's anywhere near that. I would like to get an 8 volt signal clean going into the amp so that I can be able to turn the gain down some and let the amp work a little bit easier. I'll have to talk to John and get the ball rolling on a Maxxlink then. Thanks for your help!
