Topic: Thors Eternal Build Log 06 Grand Prix
Has anyone ever tried to make a GP loud while still remaining in the trunk? I'm currently at a 145.4 and have a little more to play with. Already done big 3 with 0g. yellow top in front kinetik 2400 in rear. Tons of dynamatt and foam. Current box has a 7inch port. Thought of trying a bigger port. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Port on driver side...slot port...tuned to 47hz..seven inches wide by 14 tall also same width at elbow inside box.. subs slightly off centered all the way to passenger side. Have been entertaining ideas of a 10inch port...I got the room...lol -------------------- Team DefJ Team High X-Cursion Team DC Team Stetsom USA 2 DC lvl 5 10's, Stetsom 14k2d 151.6 DbDrag

I personally havent heard a setup like this but I could imagine you could have a swappable port for daily and comp, couldnt imagine it sounding horrible... -------------------- Creator-Ohio Bass Society First and only dual-alternator 'real' Saturn (pre 2002) on the planet (2) 18" Omegas fed by a SoundStream XXX10000 12.75 cubes net @ 30.5Hz, 200 sq inches of port Replaced AC with 250 amp alt 225 amp alternator in stock location (custom bracket) (2) XS Power D3100's 4 power+4 ground 1/0-gauge runs

tune lower that should help you box peak more in line with your car. I used to have a high tuned box in my cav it was like 50hz then I tuned for music and got louder -------------------- Team S*****n quote: Originally posted by Creepy porn store employee : Im outa here like a heard of turtles" 147.5DB 145.6 Bass Race

I'll try that with my next box. or better yet if i can get near a meter and some help ill tune current box down and see what transpires. also...I have more than enough room to make port bigger..up to 10 inch wide. Would this help? -------------------- Team DefJ Team High X-Cursion Team DC Team Stetsom USA 2 DC lvl 5 10's, Stetsom 14k2d 151.6 DbDrag

By making the port wider it is only going to bring the tuning freq up instead of down. -------------------- TEAM SUNDOWN AUDIO 2009 NSPL Car 1801-3600 Watt Record Holder: 151.2db 2009 NSPL Car 3601-Up Watt Record Holder: 152.6db 2009 NSPL Car Hardcore Record Holder: 155.2db 2009 NSPL Car 3601-UP, Car Hardcore, and Car Points World Champion

unless you add more length too, but then you give up major box volume, which likely won't help when lowering the frequency.

easy to just build a new box tuned lower. try some aero ports and just hack off a bit at a time till your score plateaus -------------------- Team S*****n quote: Originally posted by Creepy porn store employee : Im outa here like a heard of turtles" 147.5DB 145.6 Bass Race

Last Weekend at the TNE Mothers Day Soundoff I set a new record for myself at 145.8. The additional run from front batt gave me a .4 increase. Same settings as the show before that. Not bad. Going to another show this Sunday in Ogdensburg, NY. I'm not doing to bad this year but I'm fastly being caught by David. He's def. keeping me on my toes. I'll keep ya posted. -------------------- Team DefJ Team High X-Cursion Team DC Team Stetsom USA 2 DC lvl 5 10's, Stetsom 14k2d 151.6 DbDrag
