hi,
i am installing 2 12w6's with the jl audio amp running 1000 watts, the jl zr650 speakers in the front and the jl c650x in the back, with the 450/4v2 amp. i was wondering, should i get a second battery, or just a large cap, or both? or any other suggestions

thanks

With that setup you could get a sec. batt but if you just replace your original one with a kinetik or the like you should be just fine.

depends on what you drive? install it all first and see how the voltage is before you do upgrades. most american cars will handle that with stock battery no problem.

I was also thinking about getting an all kicker system, with the ss series 6.5 in the front and back with the 8in midbass up front, with 2 12in L7s.

How would this system compare to the JL

I think the JL system will have MUCH better sound quality, and could get comparably loud.

Upgrading your front battery and the "Big 3" uipgrade should help you out a lot. Then, if needed, add a second battery.
