I am curious why for example... In winISD
I take 2 12's in 5 cubes ported and 100 inches of port it gives me X amount of port velocity . Now explain this. If I do 8 12's in a unichamber that is 20 cubes ported with 400 inches of port. So everything exactly 4 times so should hold the same port velocity.... The big unichamber box has a hair less than half of the port velocity . Now I know WinISD won't be 100 percent accurate on the port velocity BUT it has to be following some theory that I am not aware of (never really got into uniboxes)to show that it doesn't match the same velocity but exact same multiples of everything else. I even tried 4 100 inch ports in the unichamber box and still shows less than half as opposed to the smaller box with 2 12's. Any input.

PS Seems like back in the day I heard there was odd things on using multiple woofers in one box. And it kinda does honestly. I want to up my velocity some

Have you changed the power input to the system?

--------------------
 - That was nothing. But, that's how it always begins . . . very small.

You don't need to. you keep it the same. 4 times the subs and box equals 4 times the output even with same power. That is why if you double power and subs you gain 6db (4times). I discovered also in a given box if you double power it only increases port velocity a little less than half. i am sure both of these concepts are using the same theory. Just would like to knwo what it is

mathematically, through logarithm, doubling the energy in a system should yield a 3.01dB increase.
In the real spl world, doubling power will get you 1.7-2.4dB

Or less.

Added power will also give you some room to change the enclosure design or port setup in order to increase you SPL.

The added power adds cone control and your box thinking can change dramatically.(depending on driver selection)

Last time I used a box program or looked at projected port velocity was around '98. Before I knew any better.

Tell me in a PM what the set up is and what your not getting and Ill be happy to help.
