how would I go about connecting an iPod to my headunit(s)
One is a Sony headunit that has the AUX hole in the face but how do I go about connecting my ipod to it?
and the other is an older model Alpine headunit in my truck, I plan to remove the CD changer and I "think" I still have the adapters that converts the CD changer connecting to RCAs, or is there an adapter that will work better?

If its got a "aux" rca input, you can get a headphone to RCA adapter, and then just run the rca's into the HU, thats what i used to do and it worked fine

all that works great if you ONLY want your ipod to play thru the radio.
Now - there are other considerations too - depending upon how much functionality you are looking for.
There are ipod kits for connecting to these radios that will allow it to be charged while it is playing (built in to the Alpine kits - and a lighter adapter for the Sony kits).
Just depends on what all you need it to do.
But yeah - the cable is the easiest thing to do.
Also - depending on the kit and the headunit's options - the headunit may be able to control the ipod interface.
