I currently have 2 runs of 2/0 in the rango, but I'm pulling it out and replacing it with 6-8 runs of 1/0. How the heck do you get all this junk through somewhere???
I've spent hours staring all over the place at the car and finding no damn good way to get it all back there. Just cutting a hole in the firewall only works on trailer queens when your hole is the size of a softball.
I've come to the conclusion that my best option might be to just cut a hole throught the backseat floor to the outside and then silicone it up real well and run it all under the car along the frame.
Anyone else have any other tricks that work well on a daily driver?

Go under the vehicle, mark a square but only cut three sides so you can peel open like a can, Run the cable through and seal the hole up around it.

Just an idea...if you guys have connections with metal shops you can fabricate custom solid copper bars and run it straight from the battery to the trunk. eBay sells solid 99.9% pure copper all the time but you'll need a way to melt, form and protect it though.

Go underneath and use conduit. To keep rocks and road debree from cutting the wire. 2-inch I.D. should do it. I used 1" conduit on a old car of mine worked pretty well. Ran it from the battery to the spare tire area but I had was in college and had access to the pipe bender.

I kinda like that idea with the 3 sides. I was talking a few days ago with TommyK and he said just silicone the crud out of the hole under the car after you run the wire through.
Thanks for the idea!

I have either 8 or 10 runs of MCM 250 (1/0 is mcm 50) and 4 runs of 1/0 all going through the firewall and run in the car. Just cut a hole, put in big rubber grommet used on boat wiring and call it good.

ive run wire under the car before, sucks when its cold, seems to drop voltage faster. but i run the wire through a plastic coated greenfield http://www.easternwire.com/lt-home.html i used the metal one for extra protection. it was kinda a pain in the neck to fish through but keep it as stright and flat as possible worked best for me.

i ran mine under the car in some 2.5" (i think) hot tub sump hose. Only 5 runs of each though
then when i brought it up through the floor the hose worked well as a grommet aswell.

I just figured cutting a hole that big in the firewall would be a bad idea with water possibly coming in.
I cut a hole in the last car I had and it was fine but it was only for 1 run of 1/0. I'm just imagining the size of the hole and visioning it making a mess.

Sorry to threadjack but if you have batteries in the back what is the point of running multiple runs of wire when they just act as a charging wire for the batteries in the back and the amps feed off of them I mean personally my system exceeds the alternator capacity almost immediately after you turn it on and any bid amplifier will exceed your alternator amperage hence the batteries in the back just curious this is the first I have heard of this running so many wires

I run 2 power/ 2 ground in my daily driver.
Most people, especially in dbdrag, run multiple runs because the under hood battery is their only battery. In street max, you have 1 extra, so all that wire is necessary.
