well not actualy sure where to post this... BUT heres the thing......... little projecti have with my cup holder.... was gonna be plain and simple BUT after using my 110-12volt power source in my room, it gave me a great brain storm...
to flash and dim out completely.
now when making this video i just pluged the wall plug in and out for this effect and it just fades out which looks preaty sweet....
BUT problem is... i cannt just wire in any electronic capacitor cause as soon as the circuit is broken they just stop of course....
now the idea i have is to use a stereo capacitor MAYBE and a old school car flasher unit to give a flash that would charge the cap and then the cap would drain out like this and then flash again so on and so forth [Wink]

BUT with using LEDs the flash can be a problem alone, as well as having to much power in the cap which would keep them fully lighted the whole time between flashes...

well enough chatten... heres what im talken about how i want it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd_qbQHao9I

but this is the best i can do off a battery...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3nhrZwFBns

and just a few plain pics.

 -

does anyone have some type of ideas how i can do this?

only way i can think of doing it is using my 12volt to 110 power unit and my 110-12volt plug wired into a flasher on the turn on wire for the unit. lol

That's looks pretty simple use a 12 volt relay for a turning signal light but hook up led's to it. A strobe kit might work better. You could even wire in a toggle switch to cut it on/off.

i still dont have it in the car yet..... and wired up to anything..... cause i want to rewire my whole door trigger system and add some cold cathodes under the front seats.....

Please tell me your going with something 16 or smaller, and not chrome.

I have TONS of suggestions for you to get tasteful wheels on that car.

i still dont see why ya dont like 17s....
but the cars not geting gayed up... ive already got it all preaty much planed out!
in order or purchase.
RF T10001bd amplifier
higher power alternator

the 17inch Enkei - FN-18 - Gunmetal with Machined Lip
Kuhmo esca ASX 205-40-17s

matching paint for my car and painting all the little pieces to clean it up more... parts under hood, side skirts, new OEM bumper.
black OEM systle headlights.

front bumper lip Greddy REAL not fake!
carbon fiber hood. still desiding style....

and then its just onto upgrading the stereo here and thier.... some alpine type R or X components and a amplifier for them and some alpine 6x9s... sway out sub and another amplifier and maybe another battery or two.

and my only other lighting upgrades will be 2 more 6ft strips of my led flexstrips for my sides. but since i dont drive much at night anymore just in the morning going to work thats not realy on the priority list.... just when i might feel like it!

i got a plan for the whole car!
i was gonna do air struts BUT after lowering my civic about 2inches... i think i like it as is. plus my @ss will never have enough cash to bag it with the best toys! [Frown] o well ill admite it.LOL
ive also got a OEM SI trunk lid and spoiler which im still debating on if i want to bolt it on right now... paint is stock flamenco black or something like that and my civics been repainted afew times and has a blue flake in the paint which looks realy good when shined up! so i have to take my chunks of bumper and get the paint lazered or whatever so i can find out exact color and match everything i add or modify.

Lose the neons. Lose the chrome and keep a nice stock look.

A subtle drop (which you've done), a nice rim (click the link in the last post), and some simple tunes, and you've got a sweet car.

Please don't Vin Diesel it up.....

man, those are some nice looking civics.

i think i would go smaller than a 17" and run some decent size tires on them.

how is 17's gay? I personally think those cars look goofy with those little wheels. The last one looks ok but the first ones look stupid to me.

Man, run 17's, even 18's if you want they should look good. I do like black on black for your car. I will agree the neons gotta go but thats your style so if you like it all the power to you. Ive been telling you that for like 3 years now though [Big Grin]

ok i take some of that back....i dont like some of them but a few look pretty good. Still, how is a 17 gay just because YOU dont like it?

besides the title is "smallest caps made" not "smallest wheels made" [Roll Eyes]

A 17 inch wheel with a 205/40/17 tire is just a little bit bigger than a 205/50/15.

The 17 will ride like ****, is heavier, more likely to get damaged/flat by a pothole and offers VERY little performance wise.

15's will give you a smoother ride due to a larger tire wall, more performance options, and will be more proportional in size to the car.

I've had 17's and never will again.

The topic got switched because I told him he's ricing up a car, he told us about some huge wheels he's getting and now I'm trying to show him the light.

Dude, it's your car, do what you want. I'm just trying to set you in a more mature, non-high schoolish direction.

i understand not "overdoing it" and i know what gay is when it comes to civics and other cars......nothing gay or high schoolish about 17's or 18's especially when done right.

let me show him the light.......DONT get them weak ass 15's. It wont look right at all. It will look not only like "high school" but "high school" back in 1988. Thats when the 15 was tight and a 195/50/15 was a sweet "low pro" tire LOL. I think the 17's you had looked damn nice and would look even nicer with that new drop you put on it.

wow... nice little argument.LMFAO

but im set in my choices. and as for performance i only got a D16y8 with a AUTOMATIC TRANNY... so performance is never a desire! if i wanted power id do a transplant or turbo build BUT this is my daily driver and a AUTO tranny....
MPG > gas $$ now.LOL

and with 17s geting damaged easier.... well YES if you put them thru the abuse! i had those chrome 17s for awhile on my car and you just gotta know your surroundings and dont be stupid in short! i only lightly rubbed ONE curb and that was the tip of the curve at the bank drive thru which was only about 1-2inch scuff. and i always swearve for potholes... only idiots would aim for one even if your runnen some super swampers ; )

hell my 66impala with STOCK steelie i think 14s... well when i was young i drove the hell outta that thing and BENT every one of those rims... but ive grown up alot and dont drive as stupid anymore!
so damage realy isnt a issue... and when i buy my rims i want to buy 6rims.... 4 on the car... 1 fullsize spare tire... and 1 extra rim JUST INCASE of damage. i searched LONG AND HARD for these rims!!!!! i just wish the gunmetal color was black BUT if i decide i dont like the gunmetal after awhile ill just paint them myself to match my car!

and with 17s again... ya you do suffer alittle ride comfort BUT it also depends on the rubber you runnen i bought some Kuhmo esca ASX 205-40-17s and they where a nice ridding tire! not as loud when driving and thread life didnt seem to be any problem! now the cheap larger tires that where on the rims before those SUCKED!

and neons... come on they arent neons ; ) thier LEDS. neons are so 80s ; ) hahhahaha

since this thread is already thrown off.LOL
heres another project i did with my gauges and some flexstrip leds. quite a bit brighter and WAY cooler than stock and WAY BETER than the cheap @ss white face gauges!

from stock DIM boring gauges
 -

to brighter cooler more visable
 -

 -

i also did my AC.heater controls BUT i want to redue them again and with some blue and white flexstrips so i can keep the tempature colors as they should look at night.

trust me ive thought long and hard on what all to do for my civic! and i think i am keeping it clean and simple but also with some style...
6K hids, oem fog lights (which i will upgrade to hids eventualy)
and my system. nice DD dvd, ipod, sirius very nice radio! and i love this background i got on it ; ) I LOVE the custom backgrounds... i just have to find some good pictures and edit them alittle to fit around my info box.. : (

 -

im glad i copied meades radio choice. [Big Grin] LMFAO tax check well spent!

forgot to say main reason for wanting a CF hood is cause my hood is a aftermarket hood which is dented up in front preaty good when i had problems iwth the hood latch! : ( cheap hood cheap metal bent WAY TO EASY! just like the aftermarket oem STYLE bumper. : (
previous owners being CHEAP @SSES and not repairing it properly!

The gauge cluster turned out nice. I would have used amber, but that's me. Looks like there are no hot spots on the cluster either. Nice work.

The car's an auto?

Yeah, umm, use the 17's.

There is no such thing as a performance mod for an automatic civic.

well thier is but the auto would have to be rebuilt tuff for the abuse.LOL BUT not my thing for this car...
hell i got my 66impala for raw horse power even tho its a auto it will smoke em like no ones buisness [Wink]

but even before my drop i had quite a few people liken my ride [Wink]
i just got stomped by the guy with the newer droepd civic.LOL

http://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_388645/tm.htm

and my gauges only realy has ONE dim spot.... but thats just because i forgot to put alittle spacer holding the strip in alittle more on the left side of the tach...
but it hasnt bothered me much to change it... i jsut love these flexstrips leds [Wink]
ive also got them wired in thru my stock wiring so my dimmer controls still work with them BUT i dont dare dim them....LOL

and i dont see why people like amber so much.... why people are paying so much for a SI cluster when a EX cluster looks just as good to me.

i just like adding little touches here and thier.
everyone just hates my UB lights. but anyones thats read my posts or knows me KNOWS nothing will change my mind about my lighting [Wink] i was doing it long before fastnbutox came out in theaters.LOL please dont sterotype [Wink] my lights are hidden and are conected to switches [Wink]

Ok, My vote: (if anyone really gives a ----)

Smaller than 16"s = Meh...

Lighting = Iffy, dependant on the whole car. If you want people to get the impression that the circus is rolling in your ride and you need all the attention.... have at it.
O'course if you have a crazy/over the top yet clean paint job that's already screamin, you might as well carry that throughout the vehicle.

My preference in style is sleek, clean and subtle. About the only lighting that I've used to highlight an install is white. (I wanted the deep laquerd custom woodgrain finishing to look like...well...wood.)

One thing I definately dig is addiction's background pic on the h/u. :Big thumbs up: [Smile]

Yes this is my sig, no there is nothing for you to see. Quit looking at me, nothing is going to happen. Stop staring at me, cut it out, leave me alone.... -

thanks.LOL i also got a few mature content pictures... BUT they arent that good and well i dont want some kids walken by my ride and seeing some boobs. LOL

but the lighting is not gonna be over the top trust me! well besides the exterior... i do like them being bright and wheel to wheel glow.. .and eventualy on the wheels themselves. hardest part thier will be HIDING the lights but not the glow...
but im still sticken with 17s. ya wont be able to change my mind trust me... ive already gone thru afew arguments about them.LOL they rode fine for me! style is still a nice thing to have [Wink]
