i dont want to run spacers in my car and i need some components. something right at 2" of depth. i can get the new infinity ref comps but they are much deeper than last years models they are almost 2.5" deep now, anyone have any ideas? budget is 250-300.

Yup, they can still be had. But I just noticed that on a 6.5 the mounting depth is still almost 2.5" and a hair over 2" for the 5.25

Focal 165VSlim going to run you about 375 though at most shops.

good looking out that seems to be the ticket. anyone ever use the DS series of comps from kicker? they are 1.81" top mount depth.

Illusion Audio is still around, their Carbon 6 1/2" components are only 2.1" deep.

Infinity kappas are pretty shallow. They have a neo magnet.
