I'll tell you this. . We have had the PA A3000D over 16volt np and at 1/2ohm . . you tell me. . I really liked these amps . .but now I love them. There isn't anything else I would take at that price point brand new. . . PERIOD

The PA3000db's are very dirty amplifiers at low impedances and higher voltages. The ones I had shut off at 16.8, if you figure out how to run them higher than that then you got lucky.

Hifonics amplifiers are of much higher quality. The sound will be much better and they will make rated power. To get the power acoustik to make rated power you'll need 16 volts, and a 1 ohm reactive load and you'll have about 20%THD. Go with Hifonics!

For instance, used to run 4 PA3000db's on an MT18 in Extreme 1. They would smoke the coils about every 5-10 burps. We've put a pair of goliaths on a single MT and hit it many times without coil failure and the goliaths are louder. The fact that they are much cleaner amplifiers is the reason for less frequent melted voice coils. I've used both, go with the Hifonics.
