Gonna buy 6.5's this week for the doors and the tweeters for of my chevy silverdo.Stopped at tech auto sound saturday and he was trying to sell me a pair of boston acoustics for $250 which he didn't say which model it was and a pair of the pro models for $400.Is the pro's that much better that it is worth spending the extra $150?

What parts of PA are you from? My old stompin' grounds were: Lancaster, Johnstown & Pittsburgh.
In regard to your post:
I've always liked Boston Accoustic. However, my ears are so bad after years of abuse that for me, spending the extra on Pro would not be worth it. But, that's me. I've auditioned the Rally series against Infinity Kappa & Polk (pre-Momo) and really liked the Rally series.
If you are willing to order over Internet / catalog, I'd recommend looking into Parts Express and some of the following: Morel / Macrom, Vifa, ScanSpeak, Peerless and DynaVox. Some of them are 8 Ohm. Dayton (Parts Express house brand) may be a good option too.
I used to run Infinity Kappa and then Infinity Reference. For the music I listen to (rock & metal), the Reference series was the better option. I liked the Kappa, but the Reference just seemed to carry the day a bit better for me.

in the infinity i always liked the ref series better.
as for the boston stuff. you can almost get a second set of mids for the cost of the "lower" set save the money and get a nice clean amp to run them on
