well i finaly got my alpine IVA-W200 and so far LOVE IT.... but only thing i dont like is how the radio screen seems to stick out...
and yet another one i seen that looks preaty flush...
 -

tho mine sticks out about 1/4-1/2inch......
i dont realy like that....

another thing i didnt like about the unit is why i had to cut off about 1/4inch from top and bottom of the trim ring to make it fit... that sucked!

but other than that its a great headunit! sounds so much beter than my old clarion headunit!
plus the dvd player is a cool toy!
only downside... it took most my tax check.LMFAO

and i still gotta find out if i can put my own picture backgrounds on it...
i instaled it afew days ago so still learning..

 -

OR do i have to custom make my own trim ring? or deal with it?

well id love to air strut the thing.... but keepen it black.. swapen rims to black/with polished lip. and just a single 12inch FI BTL with rockford T2amp... not going to go any larger on the bass in it...
[Wink]
main reason i love this unit is cause it doesnt block my AC/heat vents! its freaken cold up here and i need every heat vent i got at 5:30am going to work.LOL

trying to sell my rims now but i just got a newbie ebayer that bought the rims/tires for 650bucks but after he got the 150-175$ shiping quote he hasnt responded... and been 4days now. [Frown]
im runnen stock steelies now didnt want to put the hubcaps on!

o... i should add... i cannt change my civic to a 4door [Wink] LOL
i thought about a flip out unit cause then i could put it in my truck or any other vehicle cause its single din size.... BUT i didnt want to block the heat vents in my civic.

i guess i might be able to make cuts in the mounting brackets and HOPE thiers enough clearance behind the radio to move it back further...
i just thought about that.

edit........ on a side note... i finaly found a website that has custom backgrounds for the unit.

read the instructions...

you need a rewritable cd and cd burner...
you cannt open the files cause they arent regualr picture files... thats normal...
once you download the file onto your computer burn up to 10 NO MORE files and must not be in any kind of folder on the cd....
but also depending on what model you have.... ive heard some can only do 1 file on a cd at a time to work.... but mine can take up to 10 files on one cd...

BUT before ya try any of these custom backgrounds use one of alpines official backgrounds first. that way your sure you know how to do it...

preaty easy... i just wish alpine had a program where you could upload your own and it turn it into that style of file!
so far thats the only site ive found that can do custom backgrounds... no problems yet with the few ive tried at least...

WELL.... started tweeking the factory brackets to fit the unit back alittle... tho its not quite perfect.... its preaty close.LOL

at least looks alot beter during the day
 -

 -

but ive had the radio in and outta my civic yesterday about a dozen times.... everytime i though i was done... and put everything back together... one thing happened after another!
wire came off my sirius unit... wire broke off my cig lighter plug.... and well little thing after little thing [Frown]
and ontop of my furnace fan burnen out... then repair guy says i have to remove our whells water blatter so he can pull the fan to replace it... and then he got the wrong fan motor... so not only do i only have very little heat from a little gas wall unit for 3days now.... i got no water for the 2nd day today..... in short... im not having a good time and just care about the little things anymore! at least not until i get the furnace and my water hooked back up!

i still dont think it was me...LOL or ya miss read me... it was probably like i only got 50bucks after bills... and that was probably with my truck. LMFAO 60dollars a week in gas compared to about 20bucks can put a hurting on your wallet!

i hope he can change my picture this weekend... he said he does this on weekends. and my upload was like 14 or something so hopefully he can do it for me [Wink]
i just wish i could find a program to do it myself.... then i could do anything i wanted and practice the picture...........

cause only downfall about backgrounds is thier not fully visable [Frown] so the volume and channel info is always in the way [Frown] but hopefully my picture is positioned good enough to fit mostly...
