you shouldnt have ot relocate the head unit. i had a 2000 sunfire(not sure should be the same) there should be an instalation kit and harness you can buy.

i have done it before, I think they are like 2000 series harness' like 2001, 2003. your going to have to run ign or 12's from the ign harness tho. just buy the cheap 2000 series harness and forget about the door chime

do you mean you are having trouble with the ignition wire since there wasnt one in the 2000 harness.

I just hooked it straight to the 12v + although i had to turn it off manually, i still had the door chime....( im assumeing you are refering to when you lock the doors?)

yes it is a standard harness. Just use the harness that fits a 2000 tracker. I don't remember the part #. It will work fine. All you will lose is the door, and head light chimes.

Holy **** its the easyiest car to work on

All you need is a 2000 up tracker harnes, and either use a fuse t-tap or just t-tap in the acces wire(brown). You need to have a switched 12v for the new HU

Your a installer and didn't know gm brought out the data bus 2 system in 2000.

2000 till now don't have a 12 volt switiched anymore.

But you do know they loose there RAP feat and the little seat belt guy and it won't tell them when they leave there lights on.

i have a shop parttime but to tell u the truth i dont do alot of headunits. i do mostly custom enclosures fiberglass work and such. alot of the cars that come to me already have headunits in them but nothing else. i actually dont care to put in headunits because there is almost no mark up...
