What the hell are you talking about? Who said anything about where it pivots? You can see that it only pivots from the bottom from the video.
They may not ahve literally used the frame and motor, but it doesn't look like there is much left of the R Class it started out as...and you can see that in the background videos in the Alpine video.

It's one thing to re-design a door panel, interior, hood etc. But to redesign an entire car interior as well as exterior to the caliber of (or near) corporate concept car is a helluvan accomplishment.
