I hear ya there, I'm pretty anxious also.

It's just that Brad's comment got me nervous that it'll be a complete flop. While I don't expect anything big out of it, I would like it to sound decent and be as loud as my previous setup. I don't really care about the meter, just to my ears.
We shall see.

I have found that in a trunk car, if you block off to much of the area between the trunk and the inside of the car it just isnt loud, too much air restriction to the cabin. I built a box 10 years ago very similar to yours in a 92 accord with 4-12s and it did nothing but shake the trunk. We changed it to a spare tire well box with the subs facing up, which leaves the whole trunk open to feed the cabin, and it was 3 times as loud. Alot of people also have luck facing the subs forward and ports up, which probably works well with 2 subs.

I hear what you're sayin'. But with me, I've always got decent results from subs and port firing back. With my single 15" setup, I only had a slot of 2" x 16" of airflow coming into the cabin, and it sounded great and decently loud. So I figuured, bigger box, more subs and port, so openend the slot to 5" x 16" on the passengers side to let some air come through. I just hope it's enough. Anyways, I'm headed out now to make 'er look a little better, as in cleaning up the fiberglass strands and stuff that I couldn't get to stick down. Also building a tiny amp 'rack', more of just an amp holder because I can't fit them anywhere else. Thinking about getting some black spray paint to paint it all, but I think I'll do that later.
And after that, I just need to wait for my speaker wire to come in, and I'll be able to wire it all up! Probably more pics to come tonight.

Good luck with it, it may sound great compared to what you are used to, but if I could just give you some advice.............
We have probably done 300 cars the way that I am talking about, and it always works great. I am doing a 06 Sentra with 2 -15s this week, maybe I will post pics.

if it doesn't work out for you like the way it is then take out your backseat and put your box back there. that is what i did with my 05 accord coupe.
i really wanted 2 15s and i couldn't fit it in my trunk so i decided to get rid of my backseat. besides i just need one passenger when i go somewhere. don't like to have too many people crowd up my car. lol.

I don't have the time to explain it right now, but will just give some info real quick.
I got EVERYTHING in, amps, subs and everything, got it all wired up and it just plain out sucked. . .
Wasn't loud, sounded horrible and I didn't know what was going on. So I listened for a little bit and tried a couple things out.
I ended up unplugging the amp that is running both non-inverted subs and it was sooo much quieter. I expected it to be quieter just because only half the power and the big box.
So I plugged in the other set, only the inverted subs on the other amp and it was soo much louder than the other set. So all and all, I have a feeling I have something out of phase or something is up with my wiring. I didn't have time to check it over today so I'm gonna get on it tomorrow!

Yeah buddy. I have a feeling I was just getting too anxious when I was putting the subs in so I blazed thru the wiring. I have a feeling it'll be a pretty easy fix, but you never know! Heh.
I do have some pics to show, but I gotta unload them from the camera. Those'll be here either later tonight or tomorrow.
Any guesses on how to fix the wiring problem?

Sounds like You have one of the non-inverted subs out of phase.

you do know that if you run 2 inverted &2 not inverted, the set that is inverted is supposed to be wired out of phase because the cones will be operating opposite if not.

Hey guys, sorry for some confusion. Here are a couple quick pics of my setup.
About the phase issue, I do already have 2 of them wired out of phase so they should all be going in the correct direction. We shall see once I get it all checked out today.

Hey you hoes, here's what was going on. 1st of all, on one of my top subs was out of phase. That helped a bunch. Then it still sounded odd, so I checked to see if they were all going in the right direction, and even with the negative and positive swapped on the inverted subs, they were still moving out, if you see what I'm sayin'.
Basically, the top and lower set were moving in opposite directions. This is odd, I dunno what's making it that way, but I just wired up the inverted subs like regular subs, and now they pull in when I tap the speaker wire with a battery, so it's working perfect, I think.
So now everything is going in the right direction and it's definately louder. It seems to do best in the 40 - 55hz range, I would have liked it a little bit lower, but I still need to tune it, so we'll see how it goes. The TSS's really like moving, and they are doing awesome onthe 1kw of juice each. I have each amp wired to 2 ohms with 2 subs on each. So 2kw split.
It's definatley louder than my last setup, and a much more flat response which I'm loving.
I would really like to adjust my gains properly, as of right now I have both amps set at right about 50% up. If anyone has any tips on adjusting them, let me know.
So now for getting it all metered. Maybe I can talk to my friend and see if we can hook up later today and see where it's at. If I had to guess, and I know people HATE number guesses, but I don't care, then I would have to guess a 147 or 148.
There is definatly more of a full feeling with this setup compared to my single 15, so I'm really liking that. I'll try to get some videos in the next couple days when it's nice and sunny out. More pics to come of the final product probably tonight or tomorrow!
