Topic: Cone repair on TB 6.5" woofer (pics)
I blew the cone on one of my TB 6.5"s today. Since theres no recone kit for it I decided to repair it myself. Whadya think? -------------------- Roffles...

I didn't know of any warantty, but it was hooked up to a htg2600d lazar amp, so I doubt they'd accept it anyway. Aligning teh coil was basically a guess, I glued teh spider first then the surround and just pushed it up and down to make sure it wasn't scraping...and it does make kind of a scraping noise with the right freq and vol but I'll be using them for bass race anyway most likely. I think with the resined cones they will hold up a little better now...need to get them back on teh meter. I hit a 143.8 with them placed on the dash...but that's what caused the one to pop. -------------------- Roffles...

next time you align the coil use something like a playing card or a fim negative to center the coil.

seperate the cone from the voice coil first... but hey, if its lined up and not rubbing...its all good...
