I bought mine used, didnt get a gray ring? Do you mean the one that you put inside the box, and bolt the frame/spair to (mine's black)?

I'm assuming it is there to make the sub look better, without it it's kinda of ugly, and it makes the edge's around the sub smoother, usually smoother edges=more spl.

The grey thing is a n shape. So one part touches metal and the other part touches surround. But I can't imagin Kicker using glue that wouldnt be able to hold the surround down. no?

Sweet looking set-up. I'm Working on a new project myself with a L715 in a 92 Eclipse. Not sure I'll build a sealed box or go ahead with a wall. But I'm really glad to see someone else that still runs Kicker because all the guys around here hate them.

Thats strange, evryone in GA/FL uses kicker it seems like. And they pretty much dominate the shows as well. Jay Odem and Terry Jackson are good examples.

I thought that was there to hold the surround down since the sub is user reconable...Find Polecat and he'll give you the low down.

There is glue involved. It's a whole nother basket/surround/cone/spider/coil etc that u slip in.

Anyways I've been testing without it. Everything works fine. [Big Grin]
