whats the best way to remove scratches from plexi, I know I have to sand them out but whats the best way to buff the sand scratches out?

as you said buff them out use high end paint componds or plastic polish...

Novus is very popular in the aquarium industry for removing scratches on acrylic tanks. You can get one from a local fish store/pet shop.
