looks like some nice equipment BUT why not flush the port plate? J/W or at least carpet and the whole plate Posts: 4858 | From: indiana | Registered: Apr 2003

im doing swappable ports and that is the only way it would work...i tried to make a flush plate work, but there just wasnt enough room...and i probably will re-carpet the port...just another rookie mistake...oh well..

dont worry about addiction2bass's comment, cause we all know if its not pretty it doesnt function correctly or is loud, only the cleanist installs get loud ............... besides i think it looks cool, hows it sound?

yeah, x2 on forgetting what a2b had to say. the guy couldnt build or wouldnt build a crx box for his crx after dimensions was handed to him. he couldnt understand the affects of a hatchback does to tuning & sound.

im not too worried about how it looks, cause i know it will look fairly clean once i get some time to carpet some panels and seal it off from the trunk....other than that it sounds really good and it loves the low notes...hopefully it will sound even better once i can seal it off..thanks for the replies. for my second build i think i have come a long way since my first...things got a lot cleaner.. first install...
second install...

well swapable port is fine... i didnt say it had to be flush! i also typed or just carpet around it.
just something minor to do. rather than see raw mdf.
hcca.... i told ya i didnt want to do the crx with that much power which was the main reason not to do it......

actually once some of the neighbors on the block realized what we were doing (testing people's car's on the Termlab) even people we didnt know came over and we just metered their rides all within MECA rules.
Here is a Miata we did with a single 12" type S in a walmart box
wasnt real productive, but it made alot of people happy.

A tad off topic but........ Whats the advantage/disadvantage of using welding cable for power and ground as oppose to your standard car audio power wire?
