Say it isnt so. I guess its a sign of the times. My most fave car audio mag is no longer . I have been a subscriber for almost its whole life span. Well recently I have had not been reciving my last couple of issues. After a few emails and calls this poped in my in box.
"Thanks for your inquiry. R&T:Road Gear has ceased publication...We have extended your subscription to Road & Track. ..."
NOOOOOOOO !!!!! Its a sign of the times really...I have always liked the style of the mag (CSR-with its black covers)-a sense of elegance. With the last Road Gear issue..it was hard to pick it from the other magazines in the rack. With luck they may keep it alive as a web mag...I hope.

Just the way things are going, why do you need a magazine with reviews when they are all over the internet...

Well Johnny because it was more than just the reviews...it was the way it was photographed...it was an art form. The reviews were well written and trusted. The articles allowed me to see works of art from around the country and the world. Its sad that an institution is gone for good.

Why do you need any magazine? You can find it all on the internet.

Yeah basically CA&A is left..though I do like the way they have the "how they do that" installation how to's. Then again you have the Canadian PAS (performance and auto sound)...a real hodge podge of writing..though the reviews are decent...the reviewer thinks all products are okay.. nothing sucks.
Yeah...its kinda sad of what has happened to that format.

i still prefer reading from a magazine rather than the web. i started reading it in the mid 80's...agree w/ the comment about the pics and clean lines of the mag. i saved every single copy for years until i went to college and got rid of them. wish i wouldn't have done that now. would have been fun to go back and read them.

has gone down the DRAIN, FULL OF ADs, 1 review per issue if you are lucky, and only like 30 pages
Worst car mag i have ever picked up. PASMAG is pretty good, yeah the reviewer loves all the stuff. Maybe because if you look through the mag you will see they have ads in the mag for the products he is testing.

let me also clarify....i was speaking of the mag as it was in the mid to late 80's/early 90's. these days the quality of content on the web far surpasses anything in print.
home audio is still going strong though....copy of stereophile now is just as enjoyable a read as it was 15 years ago.
