On MTX Audio’s site it says you gain 3 dB. for double the power and 6 dB. for double the x-max or Sd (cone area). I always though you gain 3 dB. when you double the Sd. So are the right?

Thought that you were asked to remove the Team Gates line from your sig?

No I wasent. Only if I did not remove the vid. The vid is gone.
Like everything else MTX says or claims...it is a big "maybe, maybe not" type of thing.

i would say the same amount of spl you would gain by putting gps in your amps

a 3Db gain is to double, but to double does NOT mean to gain 3Db.
Doubling the surface area should yield a 3db gain, that is it's potential. Doubling amplifier output should yield a 3db gain, that is it's potential.
Now, if you double both surface area and amplifier power, you should gain 6 db, that is it's potential.
So you see- if u were using 100,000w of power and 12 12s to score a 172, you would need 200,000w of power and 24 12s to theoretically score a 178. However, this is everything being equal and bla bla bla.
