Not bad at all for your 1st set-up in a free car. Decent equipment indeed. Pic does make the box look a bit like particleboard, which is probably where the above comment comes from.

Sorry to tell ya but thats NOT MDF but that IS a great first system. Looks like a great 3rd system! Beats the hell out of my first (almost real) system.......a pair of Realistic 12's (AKA radioshack) in a box with a red square on it (we didnt need that old backboard anyway) and a pyramid PA-200 watt amp. Hey i was 14 i didnt know pyramid was crap and i had a 300 watt equalizer with a built in car alarm to go with it. That being said your doing very well for yourself. Now carpet that box

i dont remember, i think i traded "up" from those realistics and got me some Bumper 15's....man, imagine that a 15 INCH woofer! I may have even upgraded to a "Proton" amp. I really wanted that sweet "kicker box" my rocker buddy had though, i think it had 2 12's and a single 12" passive radiator (i think the PR was 12" i forget).....man i was jealous.

Do you listent to test tones all day or something? I don't see any pix of the speakers/amps that play the rest of the audible bandwidth not covered by your subwoofer
At least the sub is loud enough to knock off all the snow off of your car as I can seen the first picture

Test tones are teh fun mane. The rex when I had it had 1 blown 4 in the driver's door that played enough sound to know what song it is before bass hit.

It is 100% particleboard. Will do ok but you need to get mdf to build a good box.

nope i built it in my garage and it actually was such a close fit. if you look up on the 1st pics of the box and on the bottom u see that piece that looks chipped... well i had to do that to that so it could slid pass the trunk latch.

Actually, that Alpine Deck is last years model Fairly new. I know cause thats the same deck I have in my truck as we speak! Nice and basic with 3 sets of preouts. That my friend is a very fine 1st system, puts what I had to shame. Good Choises.
