Has anyone else seen this before. The only reason I found it was updating our stores website on google and next I find Team Nutz Technology listed on this site.

http://www.lowertheboom.org/index.htm

This site is dedicated against loud stereos and uses DB Drag Racing as an example of a bad organization.

"""""[I am a responsible boomer. It's just a few bad apples that are spoiling it for all of us.]

You would be smart to start policing your own rather than arguing with those who hold the same opinion as you. What? You don't have a clue as to how to do that? Welcome to lowertheboom.org.

By the way -- you and those few bad apples are just the unwitting puppets dancing on the whims of a multicorporate ploy to make money regardless of the damage done. (Thank you, MERA/SEMA, for making America a worse place for all of us to live.) Those who boom at (gee do you think they are MERA/SEMA-sponsored?) dB drag races are pouring millions of dollars into the coffers of those who promote street booming by idiots and thugs. You are part of your own problem and don't have the brains to see it.

the people are pretty ignorant. There is a problem though. people are feeling "violated" because some people who own a loud stereo choose to listen to it irresponsibly. Seriously people dont want to hear that crap. Not everyone enjoys your music so try to keep it down sometimes.

"Boom cars are often used to announce the receipt of a new drug shipment to a neighborhood."

HAHA, wow. What kind of factual information do they base these claims on?

It is difficult to discuss the noise produced by boom cars without considering the basic concepts of decibel and frequency levels of sound."""

we turned into terrorist's.
soon enough well have the goverment at our door.

its funny if you think about it, they could be useing their time to combat some other more important issue, like drunk driving, or drug abuse, or something with more relavance (excuse spelling), but now they find it more rewarding to give those with the hobby ****, because we want to play with our toys.

i just signed up to be able to post on their forum, im awaiting my approval and am going to ask them to show me proof of how car stereo's relate to all those things, is it cause they arrested a murderer with a stereo in his car? if thats the case everyone is guilty for something, i'd like to hear their resoning (sp) i understand what they stand for and sometimes side with them, to many ignorant people out their, but to punish all for them is unnaceptable

Well in my opinion, "boom cars" ARE annoying. The problem is that 'regular' people can't differentiate between a real audiophile and teeny boppers blaring their two 12-inch Rockfords in a bandpass inside a rattling trunk of a Honda Civic like they want to prove something. Ordinary people just won't get it.

What you can do: When you approach the stoplight, look for this thing called Volume Control, usually located in front of your source unit (Alpine, Denon, Clarion, and many other source unit manufacturers have this feature standard on all units) Simply turn the volume knob to your left and let other people have their peace.

Not only you are actually respecting other people on the road, but you are also saving the rest of us audiophiles from bad rep.

Freeways, deserts, car shows, and metering lanes = Loud is good. Stoplights, school areas, residential areas = No loud music please

they actually say that on their site, a person writes in whenever he comes to a stoplight he turns it down, and they comment on how stupid that is because they heard him coming for 2 miles already so whats that going to do

For anyone that has been to Cleveland or from Cleveland knows this or has this.

How many people have seen cars with 24 4" Coaxials in each front door. If they are annoyed with hearing bass, imagine sitting next to a car that is screaming 140 db of midrange. But from what I have been told, Cleveland enforced a no bass law, and now they have cars that have 40+ coaxials in them.

Before you could hear the rumble of a car, now you would hear the curse words for blocks away

Thats awesome. I can imagine future car audio events in cleveland that offer not a single vechile with a subwoofer, just 40+ midranges and tweeters that can put out 40khz tones [Big Grin] Dogs will be howeling for miles away during the comp.

we live in small town and alot of people have race cars.. they sit out in the garage and rev them up ,its very loud..almost every night during racing season.. my neighber has one and every night about 8 pm till 10 pm all you hear on the block is his race car .....me and my dad went out to tune the stereo, about a 2 sec burp a few times. and here comes the cops... some neighber complained. while cop was there the race car revs up and he says that is way loader then the stereo . and and tells me we can tune it all we want.. just not after 10 pm.. the other nieghber that called the cops was pissed when the police went over and told him it was ok for us to do this. man i just dont understand why people signal out things to bitch about ...''its ok to run open headers'' but not my bass ...''dumb ass people out there....''
