Well. I had helped this kid out with a simple standard crx box design. Woofers up..port back.
This kids friend is telling him that he does not have a crx box cause he put the woofer on top..but not over the ports.
Here are pics of it for those that cant follow what I am saying.
All I am asking is what is all your opinions on the woofer placement. Woofers over port or woofers like he has here. Since its woofers up and port back...you would call both a "crx style" box...right?
Yes I did look for other posts...yes I did send this person links from the forum. He is a member and if he wants to post he can but I will leave his name out for his benifit..I know how you all can get on here. ;-)
The box is upside down in this last pic.

Ya and he knows that...trust me I know what the box should be. But I also know that someone on a budget that isnt ready to compete yet..that slot port will do him alot more good and the $$ in his pocket as they are not cheap retail. I am sure he is happy.
Back in Stl retail on them was $19.95. About the cheapest I got them for was around $10 each..for the "good" ones. Still $40....Also something that as I told him can be added to the final box he builds...seeing if he even likes this one.
But yes..he should have.
Hmm...I just looked at the title of the post...it says nothing about ports....Guess its just me.
O ya Shane...:-P
I also agree with the if its in a CRX box it is. I honestly dont care and I agree with you. I could care less what all the kids call it.
Wow.
So can anyone actually answer what I asked? IF not I will ask this post be deleated and I will post it else where.

Thank you all. Sorry to be in a bad mood. Been stressed with this move back to Stl.
I remember something I was told about the placement. In this one persons car that I know that did a good deal of testing and test boxes. He found that placement made little difference. I figured in this kids car what little difference there is he will never hear it.

O ya btw. You call all debate away all you want on what port there should be in there and one should not. Just wanted the question asked before it got lost in the post.
Lol
P.S. For anyone wondering we did try same box with a slot port and with aero ports. There IS a noticeable audible difference and IS a difference on the meter in our test.

See if you can find a pic of Terry B's install from '05 finals.
Subs fwd, ports back... separate box for each, 6" port...
I think it should be called the Brocks Box
