I thought about exactly what I need if I want a good audio system in my car...

1. Support for extra power
- Big alternator
- Big 3 wire upgrade
- Extra batteries

2. Support for SPL
- Sound deadening
- Make sure bass does not break my car

3. Speakers
- Kickpanel pods
- Sidepillar pods
- Custom sub box
- Load it up with mids/highs/subs
- Install about 3000 watts

3. Rims to look good
- 20 inch

4. Car
- Get more HP to make up for extra weight

It's so much work and money. Anyone feel me?

If you love doing it then youll make the time and money, if not then sell any equipment that you have and go sit in front of the TV and get old there.

I dunno about twice, but the prices do jump up.

I'm just saying if you are trying to figure out how much money to spend to go all the way...go a head and super size on the wheels too. 20s are pretty common and don't look that big/impressive anymore.

Feel me on that one?

I don't really have to upgrade my brake for 20s and 22s also require a suspension job. That's at least 2 more grand. I love customizing cars but man is it expensive! [Roll Eyes]

One day this caddy will have a twin turbo and RWD too [Smile]

What I don't undeerstand is the need to be able to hit 150 dB at a moments notice. I have a well rounded SQ setup that I could compete with, I am under 600 watts total and its great just to listen to. Sometimes I just think people dump a lot of money into stuff without really planning it out first. I laugh at people who buy 3 sets of components for their front stage, yet if they took the time to install them right, odds are one would be more than enough.

Granted there is still money and time invested in it, but at least make the most of it.

the big 22+rims suck..... in my opinion....

and definatly to much money! when i do get some rims for my truck they gonna be 18-19s TOPS! i need a tire thats still got some sidewall strength to drive hard and work. ive seen to many LOWPROFILE tires blown out the whole side... and well if that side gets blown out.... well thier goes your rims as well! and we all know those pot holes/curbs will always be popen up on ya [Frown]

just do what i do when puting together a system... one thing at a time! LMFAO dont think about the total $$$! i think i estimated what i had in just add ons for my truck and it ended up being like 3-4K bucks. and thats with everything done myself.

keep up the work. it will all work out in time.... the highs and the lows. most of us has been thier. like currectly i only got 2 tiny RE 10s and 300watts [Frown]
i preaty much gutted the truck from my expensive toys and now gotta start slowly puting it back together with different equipment.

30, 35, 40 series tires are not able to haul a lot of weight. for everyday use. So go with a 20 and a good soft sidewall and you will do good. By the way 30" rims are on the way! There is a Rim Shop here and they are getting a car ready to put the 30" rims on it.

I feel for the man who has 19" wheels. I think that I can get 235/30/20s cheaper than any 19" tire. And if you think you will find 19s in anything other and a low profile, you are high.

20" tires for trucks are on the cheap down here. I can get 20" Goodyear Eagles cheaper than I can get 18" tires for my Honda.

And if you get anything other than a 20 on a bigh truck...it looks pretty gay. Like an old man who is trying to be cool type of gay.

But I was just suggesting that big wheels on that Caddy would look cool, and you had already started talking about performance upgrades...so why not braking upgrades? I would much rather be able to stop in time than to acclerate....but that's just me. 20s will look good, but 22s will look like monsters on that car...

I think something odd is happening...Pitbull and I are agreeing with each other on posts...hmm.
