I really want a panel saw, but its not in my bank account right now. a standard table saw is 2 small to hold a sheet of mdf. how are you guys cutting these big sheets. I am thinking of either getting a 4 foot piece of right angle iron cut and 2 C clamps and and using it as a guide for the circular ORRRRRR buying a regular table saw and building it into a big table or bench. Kinda how Remy had on Unique whips. i am leaning towards the right angle iron and C clamps to save space in the garage. let me know what you guys are doing

I use the angle iron and a circular saw. Works well enough.

my uncle is a cabnet maker and he has the saw i would like if i had the room. it is a 12" delta with a table all around, draw backs takes about 7x8' of room and cost 4g's.

When I get my own house I plan on building the table around the saw and maybe even incorporating some rollers into the table top to help push the wood through the blade. For now though a straight edge,c clamps, saw horses, and circular saw work great.

I personally made a jig. All you need is a sheet of 1/8" - 1/4" wood. Let me see if I can explain it. Cut a piece off that is wide enough for the motor side and some clamps, so the saw can slide past the clamps. Make sure you go long ways so you can make the jig as long as you want. Now cut off another piece that is long enough to go under the first piece and extend out past the blade. Now glue the two pieces together make sure the uncut side is where the saw will ride up against. Once it has dried, place the saw against the "guide" and cut off the excess from the bottom piece. Now all you have to do is mark each end of the board; clamp down your jig on each mark; and cut right down jig. This makes it so you don't have to measure twice for the placement of the "fence" since it is already installed on the jig. BTW, I always use fine cutting blades for my jig making and final cutting. This will make everything nice and clean with more accurate cuts.

I usually have the sheet of mdf cut in half at home depot (4x8x3/4 mdf here is going for $19.90 a sheet) If a panel of the enclosure is gunna be larger than 49" wide than I have them cut it a tad bigger than the longest panel of the enclosure.
