I'm really sick of not having any bass in my car and my seats don't fold down, I tried the box-in-trunk thing and bass barely got through and was weaker than my 6x9s. The only affordable way for me to get bass is to use the factory 6x9 opening and make an adapter to fit either 8", 10" or 12" subs from underneath. Excuse my great drawing skills but this is what it should look like...

 -

There will be extra support of course but this is pretty much the only way for me to get good bass without cutting anything.

At one time a company made a 6x9 to 12" adapter for that exact purpose.

The fastest way to get that done (since I'm assuming you can't do it, and don't have friends who can) is to go to a local shop and have them do it. Not a very difficult project.

I can do it---but to be honest, I would probably charge you more than you want to pay. Maybe someone is nicer with their free time, and is looking for a fun project.

They're just ordinary subs, what are you talking about???

I've never seen a fiberglass job from my local shops and honestly they'll probably charge me a handsome fee too. Is this like a sub 100 dollar job or is this more like a 200~300 job just for the adapters?

Why not just build a baffle that goes behind the seats?

no need for my post but i'll x3 the port thru the rear deck. will work out much better than IB unless you go thru all the steps to implement IB.

p.s. are your wheels made of rocks carved as tires? [Eek!]

No it's 2 subs compound loaded in a thing exactly like you describe.

I agree with the port through the rear deck, but it doesn't have to necessarily be a bandpass box. Sounds like a regular ported box might be easier in this situation.

Something like a 4th or 6th order bandpass box would work...I'm going to go for one 15" if this is the case. Since the ports will be extra long how do I tune it?

What type of "box in trunk" did you try? I do big sedans all the time (caprices, buicks, etc) who dont have fold down back seats, and although, they dont carry like hatches and SUV's Ive had no trouble getting decent bass out of them.

i know what Andy is talking about they made metal bracket that would fit a 12" sub and the other end bolted up to a 6x9 opening. i havent seen them sence the late 90s.

have you tried ur box all the way to the back firing foward with the 6x9's out?...
