I bought a 1990 Nissan Maxima, and it had a junk JVC cd player in it, when that deck was hooked up the clock never reset and the deck never reset. Now I've hooked a few decks up before but never had this problem, I couldn't get any power to the deck, and I noticed the clock wasn't working. I figured it was a fuse, replaced all the fuses. The only way I got the clock to turn on and the deck to work was to hook up the battery (red) wire and the meomery (yellow) wire together. The deck works fine and so does the clock, but now everytime I shut the car off the clock resets and so does the deck, does anyone know what the problem might be? Can I just run a wire from the battery to the yellow wire on the car? It seems like the yellow (meomery) wire had no power at all until it was hooked up to the red wire, now when the JVC was in I didn't have this problem, could I have blown a fuse somewhere? Under the hood? Any info would be appricated thanks.

Constant 12V+ = Red/Black wire
Switched 12V+ = Blue wire

red wire off headuit to red/black wire in car, yellow wire off headunit to blue wire in car. Is that the way you have it hooked up?

no, i think there was 2 blue wires on the cars factory harness, one said power antenna, and the other didn't say anything, the yellow wire on the cars factory harness says 12 Volt Battery/meomery. These car's also came with the stock bose amp in the back, so it's alittle confusing when hooking a deck up.

could be a short in the radio harness, go right to the ignition harness to avoid blowing fuses

alright, anyone know what color the ignition harness wire is? also do I just hook it up to the meomery on the deck? or is there a way I can hook it up so the clock works too?
