It does a little better than that.....especially if you run it at 2ohms stereo.....

Not bad for a SQ woofer. The following year at finals we did a 169.4 db and in March at SBN we did a 172.2db.
I ran 2 PPI pro pistons with god knows what amp.. But for their time it was LOUD.

Looking for any info on the below old-school items. Zapco eq/crossover/fader faceplate that I haven't seen before, and a US Amp Serial #6. (has a K in the heatsink supposedly for Kicker)... The faceplate consists of 3 AXI's, 1 AFI, and 1 PX. Have all of these Zapco items seperate, but have never seen them all used in the same faceplate. I posted these on some other sites, and didn't find much else out. Any old-schoolers ever seen these models before?

Got one very similar to the US in your pics. My end caps are kind of a gold in color with a brushed look to them. The amp was said to be a USA100HC(I think) which was a 1/4ohm stable amp, but the board says USA500 which is a different animal all together. It is really hard to get any info on it though, since US has changed hands and all.

Virgil ran a few brands back in the day but it was L.A.Sound that put him out there.

I must be getting really old. I know this is the "old school" stuff but most of it really looks like yesterday to me. I'll have to dig up some of stuff from 15 years ago. Great topic.

my first SPL setup (see below) Someone sold these subs to me for $100 each, used. (and I thought I got ripped off because the CV HED series were cheaper at the time and they looked better)
Not too bad for my first dB drag!
Very nice!!I still run those to this very day.
