This is exactly the mindset that is killing db drag. I used to think the same way then I attended finals this year.... Something needs to change what exactly I don't know.
What I do know is every year we loose more and mor db draggers and no one steps in to take their place anymore.
This isn't the NHRA or NASCAR this was an affordabe sport fot the average joe. We lost that somewhere. We don't have TV money... heck we hardly have manufacturers that will support us. Wayne does all he can to keep this running. That's my .02.
I miss the days where 60 street cars showed up to US finals. I don't care what it takes to bring it back. n't the

People get their feelings hurt over here when a vehicle that WE KNOW is 1.5 - 3 db louder spanks them, that is basically all it amounts to.
Stop making US competitors street competitors embarrass themselves and there won't be any complaining anymore
So let me see if i ubderstand your saying correctly....
You think that all that whining will stop if the pride the US competitors is satisfied? So if they are announced winners or even better WORLD CHAMPIONS at their class, everything will be OK?
Are you serious? Is this all about pride and ego?
Is this your idea of expanding the sport?
It is not my intention to sound bitter but this is not a winning attitude from you...

In the US...if I tell a new competitor that even if they win the US championship they have to compete against a car that we in the US cannot get and that car is at LEAST 1.5 db louder then they are...and basically there is NO WAY for them to win a World Title...then why would they compete?

you don't compete to be a world champ, you do it cause it's fun, and i'm sure there is a car out there that can be louder then the panda and crx, people need to stop bitchin' and start testing.

what we need is a list of cars already tested, until we find the loud one. how are old rabbits, ford fiesta and festivas?

Rabbit has NO room for a sub, I don't even think you could fit a single 10 back there.
Festivas aren't loud with a wall, so I'm assuming they suck with a street setup...if you can make one fit.
Fact is there isn't a car in the US that has been produced that has the flat windshield, the non existent dash, almost no interior panels, and is as small as the Fiat Panda.
It is the perfect street SPL car, regardless I don't want to compete with all this bickering going on in the street class.
I HONESTLY think a CRX COULD be as loud as the Panda with a totally different box design.
I mean just in the past year or two there has been a 2 or 3db gain in these cars. I think a properly built bandpass could give you the efficiency to get another 2db out of it...But I have no reason to want to build a street car that will cost me more then a super street car

The 2 door we worked on didn't have enough room to do anything with, besides that my old rusted out EXP was over a db louder in a couple of different boxes just thrown in each vehicle and ports tuned

O.K., you're talking about a street application, I was speaking in terms of a wall. Sorry.

If everyone thinks a panda is naturally so much louder then a crx I think you should buy one and try it out for yourself. I would be willing to help you out if interested because I know they can't be registered in America.

If you can figure out how to get it to Alabama from Canada then I'd be interested in it.
All of this talk does have me wondering if maybe the design for the Panda is just figured out but the CRXs isn't yet.
If I can find a 2nd gen rex cheap enough I'd like to pick it up and try some stuff

Its pretty easy you can just have it under a Canadians name or pay tax on it bring it to the states and it wont be road legal.

what about older cars like the amc pacer, gremlin,i think some one mentioned to me about a pontiac t1000 or some thing like that.maybe we are not going far enough back in time to find our panda? it's a long shot but a 159.2 with one sub is insane.

I always wondered what the significance was of having the sensor on the passenger side. allbeit it makes more sense than jamming the sensor in globe in the corner of your foot room and trying to hide it half under your dash where theres the most pressure. Music is heard by your ears and if loud enough felt by your body...but even then your toes dont feel too much bass usually and they sure are pretty far away from hearing it.

if you want to see a 2+ db gain throw the sensor at the passengers footrest...Ask the extreme competitors about that...
But please do not try to invent hot water...This is dbdrag we are talking about!

How fun will it be to be the world champion when thereīs only two in your class?
