Same here, good thing they allowed use of them for 2 whole years. I bought one, used it for finals only and now its outlawed in street. Forgive me for being bitter, but they should have never been allowed in street. Anyone looking for an Xstatic Batcap 8400 12v version? It will include the charger.

Yes, I feel they should have never been allowed in street in the first place. I also felt I was forced to buy one to be competative this yr in street A. So now I have this sweet battery I can't use. But hey, $1200.00 is nothing to toss a side......right?

neither, standard AGM batteries have 6 cells. The batteries in question were made of more than 6 cells...30 in the case of the cactus battery and like 150 really small ones in the case of some others.

I bought my two multicells not knowing anything about them "possibly being banned."
I bought mine the week before finals last year, with the hopes of using them this year. Heck, I was only running two amps at finals last year. I didn't need the multicells. Now I have to try to sell them, and buy what ever is gonna be the best for this year. I'm sure they won't be cheap.

Sorry to hear you're one of the guys that bought the batts and can't use them. I am glad that Wayne put a stop to there use so more people weren't "forced" to buy them to be competitive tho. As for selling them, try the guys in the classes that can run them, or maybe some USACI guys.

or how bout the NSB series of battery's. not the nsb-g's but the regular nsb, same battery's just dont come with the posts like the nsb-g's. I had a rival competitor call me the other day, and during the conversation he mentioned that my nsb75 is illegal in street cause its not marketed as an automotive battery eventho the nsb-g version is the exact same battery, just sells with screw in posts. I have posts on my nsb75, so i really dont see the difference.

So I'm a little lost on what brands are multi cell batteries, are well known brands like Optima and Kinetik considered multicell? I'm sure the big ones from DC Audio would be, but those are also out of the normal person's price range too.
And where did it say that multicell batt's weren't allowed in the street classes? I saw the matrix that said "Standard 650 cu in" for street A, is that what Wayne meant by standard?

Multicell meaning batteries made up of a couple hundred "D" cell batteries like the Xstatic Batcap or DD's version of the Batcap, Cactus Sounds CS9000....ect. A standard type battery would be a lead acid or AGM automotive use battery like a Kinetik HC2000 or Optima D34 redtop/yellowtop or similar.

I talked to Kinetik this morning to be sure and they said the Kinetiks are ok with the new Street rules. As long as you get the right size, for Street A guys.
