What works for won't work that well when you try to add power. Yes what you did to your car might make it more efficient for one amp but try adding big power. With out bracing it probably won't gain as much as a reinforced box like his. Over all you have an exception when it come to a wall build because every wall I've seen, the weaker it is the quieter it is. I know you are trying to help but like I said you are the rare exception to a wall set up. His set up has the most potential with big power.
i did not remove bracing, i replaced it with improved bracing? gained 2.5 with that box is stronger than before so strong head unit had to be removed for the old car mount to off the car because it skipped and would not play and clipped the amp another problem that was over looked and caused low numbers and a waste of time checking batt, grounds, amps, etc reduced box flex= increased body vibes.

And that's my point. The better the bracing the louder it will get. His box has killer bracing and that's why it'll work well.

Just add 3-4 big amps and batteries??? Come to NY and I will loan you the equipment. I want to see YOU with no excuses at DB Drag Finals doing 170-171 on a termlab in SS3-4.
You claim just adding batteries and amps your going to beat Gormans van in SS3-4 with no problems I would LOVE to see that.........either put up or SHUT UP! Stop ruining this guys topic as he atleast is trying unlike you..........
Oh, and take your " models and specs " program and toss it in the dumpster cause it is as loopy as you are
According to the show results where that photo was taken, you did a flat 154 in SS 3-4. A far cry from 158+, and also a far cry from a being 'Street' legal. PS, no one here cares about outlaw scores or IASCA stats or meter math. Most loud Street B and C cars can do 158+ in the kick.
Perhaps you should PM Dum Dum for some advice or spend some of that car audio paycheck for some steel.

hmmm, my little purple rabbit can do a 160 with 1 soundstream amp... yet it only does a 166 with 8. but with 8 it projects to a 186.3

Jarfunkz...Not to call you out, jump in here, etc... But the 66 statement has me curious for a good reason. What purple rabbit is this?? The only purple rabbit I know of personally.... went from 164.3 to 165.4 max after changing to our woofer for finals....with 9K per coil too. Is this the same rabbit but now louder? With some of the issues I saw enclosure wise...loading on the bottom woofer...etc... a 66 would be a miracle if it is the one I am thinking... especially if it is the woofers he previously ran...
If it is another purple rabbit.... cool! If its the same, I need to call the previous owner and get the "scoop".

yeah if i put in a soundstream 6500 i know the car would do a 62 and up we wanted to try one day but did not have the batts to drive that amp plus at .33 ohms who wants to smoke a friends amp for a test. again i have a much smaller cabin area than a rabbit.

I have learned never to expect anything. I have also learned if you have a choice to use all the amps and batteries and subs as possible as your gonna use on your final setup. Just cause a box is more efficient doesn't mean its gonna get louder with more power.
Same subs I have had boxes that gained .5 dbs to 2.5 dbs from doubling power. I have even had a box that only gained me 1db from going from one amp to 4 amps. 1 amp at .5 and the 4 with each pair strapped at 1 ohm.

Interesting indeed.
I doubt his talking about the rabbit that went to finals cause jeffrey ran that so its obviously his or unless his trying take credit for jeffrey's work? or did they both work on it and its really jareds?
I dunno, don't care about the problems its having or not having but I don't think its impossible it has went from a 165.4 to a 166 in a couple of months though.

Lets get back to the topic, someone from europe was nice enough to share pictures with us of a very loud SM1-2 build, and quad box has ruined it.

It did a 66 in the stall at finals. The next time it goes out, the gas tank will be gone and the enclosure will be rebuilt. When that will be, who knows?

(Brent)...I agree , but he does provide some interesting entertainment ...Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have him give us some fabrication/bracing advice on our trooper , as I'm sure he has some rocket-scientist suggestions on how we aren't doing ours right either...lol

after an hr or nine of testing in the unit at work, i have built some new door panels
the above is the highest i have ever had by 0.3db that should be a 158 easy (my meter is 0.3 to 0.5 ish down on uk db drag meter)!! i think 158.2 or 158.3 is very real
still have to sound deaden doors and finish the inside of the box!

2251 watts my flukes said (337 and 111 both true rms) impedence was just above an ohm from 0.25 starting which is a nice number for big ass amps!
voltage now stays above 12 volts on a burp too, training batterys is good
must have done close to 50 burps today, its all good fun!
