How many times have you encountered a Rattler? or a Scorpion?

I stayed there for three days, wandered in the woods and through the desert and in between saguaros but still.. no rattler [Confused]

How can I find one?

When I was there, I had no such luck. I did, however, hear horror stories about all the little critters crawlin into people's homes and first floor apartments. Lucky for me I was in a second floor apartment.

Aren't they nocturnal?

I've lived in Arizona all my life and I have encountered many many scorpions and rattlers. Rattlers can be found anywhere. It’s easiest to find them by listening for them. Scorpions can be found by looking under rocks and such. I've played with them a few times but let me warn you, they are quick! Do NOT take your eyes off of them.

Can you come up with a reply that actually makes sense?

As a kids of about 10 yrs oldme and my friend went rattle snake hunter in the woods nearby. Wesafely caught about a dozen snakes. We converted a rabit cage into a snake cage by saving our money for screen wire to wrap the cage. My buddy keeped the snake cage in his bedroom. His mother didn't like it, cause at 9
yrs old our craftmanship wasn't as excellent as it needed to be. One morning he woke up and there were only a couple of snakes in the cage. He asked if I knew what happen. He was sure to tell his mother or not. She would get very mad if they got out,but maybe his Dad got ride of the extra snakes. We looked in his room but found nothing, not a lose snake one. We decided to fault on the assumption that his parents might have let the extra snakes go and that bringing up the subject would only get us in more trouble.

Still to this day I don't know what happened to those rattlesnakes.
