Was pulling a racecar, on an open trailer. 5500-6000lbs. The thing that sucks is that they are gonna have my truck for like 2 weeks!

I don't have an EGT guage, so I dont really know, but I was only doing about 70, turning 3k rpms at the most. And I was hauling 6k, tops.

I'm gonna try, but I will probably have to pay for them, which is gonna suck.

Yeah, when they first came out all I heard was how much better they were than the 7.3 liters... now all I hear is how bad they are lol

My dad/s 7.3 liter has about 180k miles on it and its like driving a brand new truck.

even if you do have to buy them, $700 is cheaper then the $1200 they would charge or the 4+ hours it would take you to pull the heads off and do it yourself which could void your warrenty.... I say go talk to them

I have driven both, and a 7.3 drives like a lumber wagon compared to mine and is all over the road. If it would hold together, the tranny is much better, and it has more power.

Yeah, at the time it happened the programmer wasnt even on the truck. Had just gotten it back from the dealer last week to get the gauge cluster replaced. The hottest tune I have is about 75-80hp, and I very rarely run it because its too much fun and gas mileage suffers too much. I have an SCT, with custom tunes by Spartan Diesel...

i have a 03 6.0 dually with 170k, i drive it all the time towing at 100mph with the edge box on +100hp. No problems. Replaced injectors and had to do the HP oil pump around 155k, thats it

Now i heard 05s were lemons, a buddy of mine got his bought back from ford last year because it had so many problems. A 7.3 doesnt even compare to a 6.0 on power, and the 6.0 tranny is sweet. The dcummins is a great reliable motor, but the dodge tranny is strange, seems to be slipping all the time, just the way they are built. The duramax is sweet, but they have the same strange reliability problems that the 6.0 has

You got a good one I guess, mine is an 07. If it lifts the heads again, the dealer will be buying it back. They have already had it for 14 working days (20 total days) in the last month....
