as long as you don't broadcast your credit card numbers, SSN, etc, you should be fine. By that I mean, when you need to transmit or receive such information, directly connect to minimise security risks.

But I dont have a TV down here. The nearest tv is about 25-35ft away up a flight of stairs.... so running a cord would be a bish.
My freind is actually gonna bring his big screen over and put it down here, possibly tomorrow........ But until then its gonna be more hassle than its worth to do that.......
I really cant stand it cause I friggin LOVE playing Halo2 on live...... its like crack for me.
I cant wait to get on so I can actually play some folks from here and various other sites I frequent.
I am gonna get my ass whipped though...... I was only like a level 8...... when they added the new maps I got up to a level 13 but then I was soon reduced back to an 8

I don't mean to leave it hooked up directly, I just meant try it, just to see if it will work. You can lug a small TV down there just to make sure your not wasting your time...
wait... what do you mean running a long wire? You're not doing that already? Are you somehow trying to hook up your xbox to wirelessly connect to your internet connection via your router?

The internet connection is going from the wall to the modem to the router to the computer.
I have the xbox up stairs hooked up to the adapter via phone line and power connection.
Originally I guess my routers ip was coflicting with my modems ip
And we had a seperate ip for the adapter
I dont really know what we did but we messing with the protocol stuff alot in the local area connections....... entering ips and subnet masks and gateways
I just did step for step everything the tech folks told me to do, cause I am a computard.....
Is the IP for my adapter different from the ip on my router which is also different from the ip of my dsl modem

And, just to make sure, by modem, you do mean cable modem, right? Because xbox's have to have a high-sped internet conenction, 56k won't do...
