Ok so I have a paper coming due for one of my psych classes.

Basically I am supposed to watch a movie, documentary, tv-series, or mini series that depicts one of the following issues:

Do Adults Repress Childhood Sexual Abuse?

Do Multiple Personalities Exist?

Should Psychology Adopt a Theoryof Multiple Intelligences?

Is Treating Homosexuality Ethical and Effective?

Does the Internet Have Psychological Benefits?

Is Pornography Harmful?

Is Media Violence Harmful to Children?

Is Drug Addiction a Choice?

We are supposed to analyze the movie and relate it to the issue or my stance on the issue

Well you could use "drugs as choice" as your theme and pick from a whole slew of movies. "Trainspotting" would work well.

Of course it would be much more fun to pick your favourite porn while using the theme "Is porn Bad?" and describe how porn has helped YOUR sex life (I'll require a copy by PM of course).

wow, your professor must be very, very conservative to have this as a topic.

I dunno what you could watch to get any information about it. If I were you, I'd do this one. I would do it scientifically... though it would undoubtedly piss off the teacher. But, if you want a good grade, and some brownie points, I suggest you give the teacher what he/she wants and write your thesis first (which should be along the lines of "yes, its effective in treating the homosexuality disorder"), and build your paper around it. He/she will eat it up.

It's a controvesial issue that comes up in the text book "Taking Sides".

I have decided to watch the movie Monster and write my paper on the issue of Adults Repressing Childhood Abuse.

Notice I said "Adults" not "parents". That meaning the issue is adults repressing THEIR childhood abuse.

Well it's not just girls that are sexually abused. But you are right people don't like to talk about it. I hear about it all the time because I work with kids that have been abuse in many ways.

check out the movie "identity" for multiple personalities. the movie "philidelphia" with tom hanks would be great for the homosexuality issue...good luck!
