So basically, each speaker was in a 3.5cube....96"x16"x4" enclosure (using the 2x4's and the drywall as the enclosure)
Actually pre-cut 2x4s are used for framing interior walls. They are 92-5/8" tall. This makes up for the 2x4 on the top and bottom of the wall. Yes you are right about the 16" width between studs. However, 2" x 4" is just the nominal size; 2x4s are really about 1.5" x 3.5" big. So really we are talking about 92.625" x 16" x 3.5 equalling a 3.0017361111111111111111111111111 cubes
Tempe
and full sheets of mdf aren't actually 4x8...so no wonder why you home dump fuks can never cut that chit right

If I HAD to buy a Home theater in abox I would probably go with it, yes its expensive and probably over priced. No Its not the quality it used to be back int he days of the 901 and similar. Another thing people like about it is simplicity of use, for those who arent remotely inclined to know **** about electronics is nice that they can pick up one remote programmed right out of the box to control the one piece they need to take of their "surround sound" experience.
For me in Denon and Polk being my favorite without blowing the bank, with velodyne in their for a sub. No holds barred it would be Krell and Martin Logan, sitting in front of my 61 inch pioneer elite plasma
Exactly my point Navi, I couldn't have said it better.

Gawddamnit I work at Home Depot. I am the Regional Vice President of all Official MDF Cutters. I know wtf I'm talking about
I'll double check this when I go to work in an hour. If I'm wrong I'll admit it. If I am right I will show proof when I get home
quote: Number one, the sawblades suck. Even if the store replaces the blades with a better one, the company that maintains them usually puts their crappy blades back on. As he already said, those saws are used all day. It is kinda hard to keep everything accurate. Plus those saws are primarily there to chop stuff down to fit in customers' cars.
Of course we would like to try to do precision cuts when time allows. But when Bob Nardeli (CEO) cuts hours to the point where there are sometimes no closers in some departments, it is hard to have someone there to cut stuff for you, let alone do precision cuts.
In closing, I would like to coment on the accuracy of the saws. I never use the measuring tapes that are built into the saws. They are great for getting a rough estimate. From there, I make a cut in the MDF that is just deep enough to see a groove. Then I break out my measuring tape to see if the cut is right on. If not, I will tap the board over a nudge to get it perfect. I keep making the shallow cuts until it is perfect. Then I make the final cut. Hey, ever hear the phrase, "measure twice, cut once"?

Also the table saws have these little conveyor belt things on each side of the saw to help the lumber slide easily to align it on the saw. Well the guy who used to be the lumber department head was fast but not always so accurate on the lift equipment. Somone pointed out to me yesterday how this conveyor belt thingy's one support beam was busted out of place by a good 12-18" by this guy before he left the store.
1 - you're queen no0d 2 - home dump still cuts wood 3 - most every employee i've come across makes dbb look like a friggin genious 4 - WTF does this have to do with you being "Regional Vice President of all Official MDF Cutters" and teaching your employees how to use a damn panel saw?
