What is the best way to get into the car audio business? Being an installer would be fun, I love to do that. What sort of salary do different car audio jobs pay?

You should train for MECP. Once you are certified you will find it much easier to get an installation position. One company that hires trainees is Circuit City. There you can get the hands on experience right off the bat. Salaries are better depending on the certification level you have and the company you are hired on with. Full time you can make around 1,500 as a trainee and around 6,000/month with better experience.

The program Circut City or best buy puts you through is that of a 1-3 day course for MECP. (So I hear) Right now Im at Mobile Dynamics in Toronto (www.mobiledynamics.com) This **** is great. Ive heard of people starting out at $6-10/hr to $60k a year (not starting). BEst thing to do is check your local area. Im sure prices vary throughout the US.

So do you go to Cicuit City or Best Buy and ask them about the MECP? Or do yo go elsewhere? I'm very interested also.
