A colleague of mine is leaving his company for another company & contract closer to home, thus freeing up his Linux & NAS Admin position.
The company = Nortel / PEC
Contract = US Patent & Trademark Office
Salary = $55k
Benefits = ????
Location = Alexandria, VA (DC-Metro Area / Northern VA)
Boss --- I know Mark pretty well. I've worked with him on a few projects and he's always been very patient with me and his own direct reports. Although we work for different companies, we do support the same client
If anyone is interested in the position (those are all of the details that I have ATM), I'll be more than happy to route your resume over to Mark for review.
Although Mark's the hiring manager, he's not in HR. He's an Oracle 9i certified database guru who tinkers with Linux (Probably on par with Linux+). From what I can tell, he's pretty fair to work for. He always seemed up-front and cool with his direct reports and gives the current employee in this spot a lot of leeway --- as long as the job gets done, he's happy.
Oh, and the person who gets the job will get to unpack (probably in October) a brand new HP dual Opteron based Red Hat server and NAS.
