I was just wondering if any car audio shops in any part of Florida that was doing any hiring for an experienced installer/sales person?? I have been installing for roughly 4 years and would severly like a change of scenery (plus wife would like to relocate to the Sunshine State). I have experiences working with custom fiberglass enclosures, mobile video systems, car alarms, and such. I also have an associates degree in electronics from a local electronics school (RETS Electronic Institute, Louisville Ky.) and could easily get my MECP certification if needed. I would also be interested in possibly installing any car accesories also.

You might want to check out places like Sound Advice or SoundCrafters. If you come down for SBN Soundcrafters will have a booth there and you could talk to them. Check out http://www.soundadvice-fl.com/ there should be contact info. Both of these places are pretty good size I think, and would be good places to work. As for smaller, local shops I'm not sure if any are hiring. I know there are quite a few around atleast where I live but I'm not sure if they are hiring or how much sales they generate. Hope this helps alittle.

I think on the site for SBN I saw that Soundcrafters is hiring. But I'm not sure. Check it out. Also you can check here as well www.flatoday.com or www.orlandosentinal.com they haven't had any postings lately but that doesn't mean they won't. Those newspapers are for mostly brevard county over to orlando area. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sending out a resume and application today. It would be sweet if I could get a job down there. It's always been a dream for me, just never was motivated enough to try. I think I'm going to try and come down for SBN, but not sure yet. My son's b-day is the 23rd, so it's kinda up in the air. Thanks again.

Audio Excellence has about 3-4 shops in the general orlando area, and if you talk to them and submit a resume, they might have a position open, cause i know they are going to open up another shop soon, and they are looking for people to fill it, so to say, specifically the ocoee store

another shop in the orlando area is called Triple R tint, but now is prolly called Britts Tint and sound, and they might be looking for an installer, last time i looked

there is audio illusions and Ultime audio in orlando, that usually are on the lookout for cutting edge installers/fabricators

gimme a day or two and i can prolly post phone numbers for ya, but in the orlando area, there are a lot of shops around here that will be willing to hire, if ya got the right credentials, most of them will prolly want the MECP certification, and i know with audio excellence, it is a must to have MECP to work at their shops, and security system installation is a plus with all of the shops, mostly clifford/DEI/Viper and autopage alarms

Loud, not sure where you get your info, but AE doesn't require MECP. It doesn't hurt to have it, but it won't stop you from getting a job if you know your ish.

AE brands are primarily RF and JL, Alpine and Pioneer for heads (besides RF). Alarms at AE are Clifford.

There are currently three Audio Excellence locations in the greater-Orlando metro area, with the Ocoee store to open sometime later this year. It's a shop with a decent reputation (check the past six months of Car Audio and Electronics) but they work their installers and sales guys hard.

The person to submit a resume to there would be Reggie Scott at the Orlando location, phone # is 407-277-8790. I do not know for sure if they are hiring currently or not at any of the stores, but they keep resume's on file.

If you want more info lemme know. I've been involved with AE for about four years now.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll be calling Audio Excellence tomorrow to see if they might be hiring in the near future. I'll be in Tampa Sunday and Monday. I have a interview at Sound Advice on Monday for an installer position. Hopefully something will come about soon. Thanks again.

i appologize if i may of misrepresented Audio Excellence in any way, i was just on the presumption, when i talked to montey about installer job/apprenticeship, he asked me if i had my MECP certification, and recomended the IIT or RIT school that is local(i forgot the exact name), and that would bring me up to some level close to the AE installers, cause its one of those, i know most of the ish, but i just gotta be fine tuned, if ya know what i mean. montey is a nice guy, hell, at the age of 16/17, he offered me an apprenticeship to do car audio, cause at this time, he only had the orlando shop and was building the oviedo store, and had planned to put me there when it opened, but becuase of school for me, i was not able to do it, so ive been gradually working on getting all my certifications and installer knowledge

heh, lets send this guy to the bermuda location [Big Grin] , jk
