2 7kw's are nowhere near the power off 4 T4000

i have seen a car do the same score with 2 7kw vs 4 T3000 , the 7kw's where running half the imp as the T's

Guys... I got an OT question. My friend had just smoked both of his 9918z during his final run today!
http://www.termpro.com/asp/competitorstats.asp?Competitor_ID=70342&Season=0
here is his link and pics of his setup.

I think its his box that killed his subs. I would like to know, how many liters / cubes should his box be for 2 9918's? as for power. 8- Z2 amps and 8 DD batteries.

advice please

Too much power, too big a box or incorrect note/tuning [Wink]

With the right tuning/box the subs should be able to handle those amps for a burp, unless he was clipped to hell.

I know that! I just felt sorry for him, he spent a ton of money to get all that stuff and the subs go! I'm not a big fan of DD due to the seller over here but I know there Z subs are top of the line, and when I head he blew BOTH of them! hmmmmm I knew something was not right with the box, I just want to be sure. so how many liters/cubes is suggested for a starting point?

So I measured about 16 A @Peter. But it´s a lot of power only for working without any signal. How did you manage it in your street car?

When the amp is already working without signal. But I called other competitors and ask them if they meassured the current and nearly everybody told me that it is between 14 and 20 A.

Nice number I think, other people listen to music with this power!

And I thougt the T4000 uses much current....

It's very narrow in our volvo with the new setup, so we need immediate the distances from the newest Z Woofer.

Holger, you got mail.

The new 18" Z woofer is 30" deep, from the mounting plane to the back of the motor.
