Hello Freaks! We have a new rekord in superstreet 1-2. With our Üüüühh!!!-Mobil 1 (157.9 dB) more infos http://www.cerwin-vega-brueder.de Please sing in, at our GuestBook
------------------ european champion 2000 Superstreet 1-2 (156,5 dB)
What was qualifying result of Walter (VW Bug from Austria)? On his web page I see 159,8, so this should be officially loudest score, even if you beat him at finale.
Info for others, on Sunday they changed settings on computer, so all scores were lower. And best result of Sascha is from Finale (am I right?).

Hello to all of you. To avoid misunderstandings, our "Brother" Sascha can´t speak english very well. (like me (c He forget to say that it is no official record, just the highest score in the german season 2001. Hi, firestarter, I´m happy to hear that you improved your system. Hope to see you at the European Finals 2001 ? Hi , Peter. Some words to the Beetle. I saw on the bracket standings a qualifing score of 157,7dB from the Beetle. But however, at the elimination´s they lost db´s. And it´s to find out, if this car is really a Super Street 1-2 car. What do you guys think about this car? Look at www.team-fanatic.net under SPL cars, or here http://members.tripod.com/teamfanatic/kaferhfertig4_small.JPG Keep your eyes on the dashboard. (Speedmeter in the middle, no airvents!, everything is painted and nobody could see what really is modified or not) There is a discussion about this car in Germany. So don´t discuss here, just say your opinion.
So I hope, we see us all at the Euro Finals 2001 wherever they may be, and lets all compete over the 160´s in Super Stree 1-2
I am glad that you take some time to explain situation a bit more.
For others: Michael was there whole day putting microphones in the cars, so if we don't have any official statement he is the most knowledgeable person about this matter.
Back to topic:
I know that this is not world record, but it might be loudest in Europe. I just asked about Walter, because I saw that result on his home page, and if I remember correctly I heard that he have 157,x on qualifying and that he was loudest then. I also heard some unofficial stories about settings and people changing equipment, but I think that it is all things of the past now, since competition is over. In head to head competition loudest car win. That's final!!!
I also saw his dashboard, but if he was allowed to start in SS class, than this should count as SS result. You can't disqualify him after competition, and if you ask me, this modification can't add and dB to his score. He should just be more careful with car preparation next time.
And please don't think that I am trying to be on any side. I think that all competitors put a lot of effort and enthusiasm in their cars, so they are all good competitors. But if we will communicate more we can eliminate any possible disputes in the future.
And one more thing: Ken is not Geoff AKA Firestarter. And another thing: this tripod link is not working for me, but I know what are you talking about.

Yes, I know that Ken isn´t Geoff ;-) But its the red Fire Van. I looked past, and in deed, at friday there was a db score of 159,8dB from the Bug. But you said it, Peter. The mic´s was calibrated over night. And about the modifications, you must see the car, than you may know what I mean. Every openings are closed, and I think that it makes a difference. I talked to a special car repair shop, who is specialised for VW Beetle´s. They saw a lot of irregularities. And I think I heard, that the Beetle just start with a reservation. But don´t spike me on things I heard (hope that phrase will be understand ;-) ) About the loaning of equipment, in Germany it is allowed to loan Equipment. In USA is it forbidden since this year, exception->emergency cases. But to declare: We, the Cerwin Vega Brothers, are one Team what put it´s whole Equipment together. Especially for the Ü1 and Ü2 we wan´t to try a lot of different things. We have a very big equipment fund to choose out from. And anything, what is changed in our systems is our own stuff. And it´s not our destination to make a lot of cars with one and the same Equipment, even it has the look of it. Every car has its own Equipment, you will see it at the finals, exception->destructed things ;-) ,like burned woofers ! I think it will be a exciting and very competitive season.
Üüüühh!!! Michael
PS.: No, i´m not angry about your opinion, Peter. I asked for it. It´s ok :-). Yes communikation is the key, and I try always to communicate.
I hope that there was no hard feelings about my writings in this forum. I would like to be friend with everybody, and if I ask something, that is just in good will.
When competition is over it doesn't matter what happened there anymore. You were there among organizers, I was just spectator, and I haven't competed. So all I see is from other peoples web pages or rumors at competition.
I think that competition was very cool and that all of you (organizers) invested a lot of time and effort to do it right. Congratulations.
About lending equipment: it is going on all the time. How can you tell when equipment is just lend or is it owned by of vehicle owner. Not to mention that it is almost impossible to control that. (I am doing the same for my friends).
So can we say that highest score was 159,8 from Walter, and at finals Sascha beat him with 157,9 (after computer/mic settings)

I have seen the pics of the beetle, and its a very grey modification.
1. There are several holes that have been welded up on the dashboard. (2 either side of the original clock, the glove box, the ash tray, the OEM radio hole) For non VW owners, these holes would nornally vent OUTSIDE of the cabin area, who knows if it helps the score.
2. I cannot see any carpets in the pictures (you must have trim in SS) has it got some now?
3. I cannot at all see if the heater channels in the sills that exit around the feet have been welded up (could someone have a look?)
The car HAS been customised for looks internally, is this wrong?
Anyway, we have the top 3 SS1-2 cars in Europe right here (so far) but we aint going to know who is loudest untill the Euro Finals, when we all fight it out face to face. My 158.2 was also on brand new caliberated kit, but these mics seem to be somewhat down on the older ones from last year. I will be going on the older set in two weeks, and my score on them will be my baseline, (as they seem to be a bit over a db up on Detlefs) so I will know where we stand against each other.
I will actually know tommorrow, when Kenny Team Troublestarter York goes on them with his fresh install, but I will keep you all waiting ;-)
