I don't see the point in resetting records! i.e. a 100 meter runner does a 9,85 in 2004, but another runner that does a 10,1 in 2005 now holds the record? Makes no sense at all.

But in athletics you dont get the rules changed every year [Wink]

Using your same analogy, yes someone ran 100 metres in 9.85 in 2004, but in 2005 the rules are different, he can no longer use running shoes.

Its not going to be so easy to beat the record now, is it [Razz]

True, so the deal is to figure out some rules that don't change each and every year. And if there's an uneven advantage in dB drag, try doing what they do if the wind factor is too high in a 100 m run. I know it's not that simple, but the best for this sport is to have the fundamental things in order. One measuring system, one set of rules, same penalties, no matter who you know or who you are. World records should also have the ability to be set outside the states. Some manufacturers are "living high" on WR that others have exceeded by far. For marketing values, it is also prudential that results are comparable.

WRs are able to be set anywhere in the world.

All you need is a certified judge and a triple point event.
