I SUPPOSE IT'S A GREAT AMOUNT OF MONEY BUT THEN IS THE COST OF BUILDING A GROUND SHAKING RECORD BRAKING WR HOLDER EXTREME CAR WITH SEVERAL SUBS AND EVEN MORE AMPS BATTERIES ALTS AND CABLES ANY CHEAPER? I DIDN'T THINK SO....
SO WHY NOT ADD SOME MORE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS (I DONT KNOW 3000-4000) TO A 60000-80000 USD COSTING BUDGET?
AS FOR THE MINOR CLASSES THERE IS ALWAYS THE SEA WAY......

Then maybe Wayne should consider to organise the 2005 WF here in Europe. Then we will see if any Americans come.Besides all the 2004 WR were made by European teams except the ss 5+ and the extreme 3-4.Wouldn't it be right to defend their records and stop all the mumbling and rumors of european competitors been cheating or so in order to make a record?
And by the way who says that the cost of sending an extreme class vehicle is almost 35000 euros?

Well I think that the Finns will be louder next year so then YOU can pay their cost for geting the the car/s to WF....

I think that the Finns have showed all Americans what they can do, Steve Cook did a 175dB with a car build after the W.L.V-design...

If W.L.V works in the USA, then theres no reason for doubting the scores made by cars using the W.L.V in Europe, or am I wrong?

We asked a lot of shipping agents here in belgium what the cost is for transportation of our extreme.
Most did not want to talk about prices because they do not want to take the risk (of insurance and so) of transporting such vehicle.
Since we always claimed their had to be an insurance on the car if something happened (like water in the car...)they never guaranteed that the car would enter america in one piece.
On aircraft we did not ask, do not think it is cheap to fly to america with a car that weighs about 2700 kilos...
So if you know that the finnish volvo weighs more than 5000 kilos, how are they going to ship it or put it on an aircraft for a reasonable price ?
And which company wants to insure the car and everything that is inside during the crossing?
This means also if you take a container to ship to america you are not insured for watertrouble, theft or damage on the container.
I work for a transportationfirm that covers the whole of the world (parts by road , parts by containerservice across the seas) and the insurancefreight is very high for the customer because there are so many risks involved.
We do transportation for large firms such as Atlas Copco (compressors), Volvo trucks, Caterpillar (machines) etc, but these are large companies who have good insurances and they do not care if something is broken, damaged or stolen, they know that the insurance pays... but for competitors like the most of us, my insurance does not cover these problems !

So you have to deal with 2 problems : the cost of transportation and the risk of loss,breakdown...

And to that I have reply like 206dbdragger : Why do we have to come to america if the americans do not come to europe ?
We do not say that they cheat, why do they say so ?
In most categories the europeans have proven to be the loudest ones this year, why are the worldfinals (WORLDfinals indeed) have to be in America ? America is not the world alone... and in Europe every year there is a different location so all competitors have the chance to come !

well put crash. [Smile]

thanosdbfan, you say "you have spent so much on equipment, but wont pay to ship the car to the WF"

well, yes they spend alot on a car, BUT the car is there all year, the equipment can be re-used/sold etc etc, going to the WF would cost more than my entire car and equipment, for ONE SHOW!?!

SO CRASH YOU ARE SAYING THAT TEAM BS THE BIG OKI AND TEAM MBS RISKED THE INTEGRITY OF THE EQUIPMENT IN THEIR WR SM 1-2 CAR AND SHIPPED THEM TO USA? ISN'T THAT WEIRD?ANYWAY I REST MY CASE.YOU KNOW BEST....
GUYS I SAID BEFORE THAT I'M WITH THE MOUSE AND NOT WITH THE CAT.I JUST FEEL SORRY AND ITS TOOOOOOTTALY UNFAIR TO SEE CARS AND TEAMS THAT ARE NOT THE LOUDEST TO BE NAMED WORLD CHAMPIONS ,DONT YOU SHARE THE SAME OPINION ?

OF COURSE I WANT THE NEXT OR ANY UPCOMING WF EVENTS IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO TAKE PLACE SOMEWHERE IN EUROPE.IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE SPORT.AND WE WILL SEE IF ANY AMERICANS ATTEND TO THAT EVENTS.

ANYWAY I AM NOT AUTHORISED TO SPEAK ABOUT THE FUTURE PLANS OF DBDRAG WORLD FINALS.MAYBE MR HARRIS SHOULD POST HIS OPINIONS RIGHT?

Maybe because , if you dont get full sponserschip for the trip , car and persons , its very hard to get 6000 -8000 euro together , and i hope thats enough for all expences , car shipping , hotel , plaine two ways , food , gas , etc etc ..... , the list is very long .
I cant ask for sponsership in Belgium , db drag belgium has not the intention on making money with competitions , if they can close the year with no loss they are very happy .

Maybe ask some companies , but other then bragging rights , there is nothing to gain with sponserschip for these companies , car audio or others .

Maybe try to get the money together by ourself , ok but then we have to organise an car event or two , wich take alot of time because you want people to schow up . What about testing , i know how much we test now .

And to be honnest , why spend so much money just for the title World Champion , a european competitor can play a WR . And when the season ends and he still has the WR , wouldnt he be feeling World Champion , its not a 100% the same i know .

But when 8-9 Wr are in Europe this year , wouldnt it be nice to give us a World Final for a change .
