Its looking A bit light for the European finals in Switzerland at the moment. So far we have:
Firestarter - SS1-2 Ken York - SS3-4
Its a long drive for us, around 20 hours plus ferry to France, but its going to be worth it
And remember we dont do trailers Kennys car is 20 years old, and my van is 44

Michael, you able to be at the Euros? Is it early enough to make it with a car before it gets shipped?
PS, Darren Millard SS1-2 is also close to booking up as well

Sorry Geoff, I am not able to be there with the Ü2 car. Date for upload it (and Team BS) is 7th or 8th of october... One week earlier would be ok, but not one day I hope you all understand that...

Yes as Geoff put i'm very tempted to go. I've got a couple of problems with weight to sort out first. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. But it is looking good at the moment that I will be going. I can't wait. It will be my first trip into Europe with car so could be fun.

Darren, the info on Tyres. 215/40/17s can take about 490kg each.
a 205/65 15 or a 215/60 15 will do 670kg each, which is a fair increase. Or try and squeeze some 245/45 17inch tyres in there, they will do 690kg each!!!! OK, you will have to find a set of 15s to put on to drive to the Euros?
PS the worst tyre out there is a 205/40 17 which will only do 450kg each (and that is what kenny has on his car....) PPS I have booked the ferry already for the Euros, I will send you details if you want to convoy? (with a CB)

Thanks for the info Geoff. I think we might have found what was making the tyre's go. I had a broken spring on the back. So this could have made the car sit to one side. On the tyre front. The new one's that i've got fitted, have a 500KG limit. Also when I change the batteries the overal weight of the car will be less.
Please can you send me any info that you have got. Also any info on your plans so I can meet up with you and Ken. Things are looking good for me going now.

Well i wish you guys good luck,have a safe trip and make europe proud!!! If i can i will try to come visit the event although its quite far but for db all is possible.Unfortunatly from next year i will be able to compete in the euro finals.

You can go from Grece to Trieste (Italy) with ferry than you have ''only'' 750 km to Bern. Many people from Slovenia goes to holiday in Greece with cars so it can't be so expensive. If you wish I can ask for more details.
And please inform your dB Drag friends about date, maybe someone might come. I saw some interesting results from your country.

Thanks for the interest.Unfortunatly i do not have my car ready yet but i beleive i wont make the same mistake again.If i come i will come by plane.In greece we have some good results in ss1-2nw 157,7db , ss1-2 160,3 , extreme 1-2 167,5 and extreme 3-4 170,3. Geoff I think your mind is twisted. I just can't see how it is going to be fun. My car is bloody uncomfortable when I go to a show that is 3 hours drive let alone 14 hours. One question for ya geoff do they use unleaded fuel in europe.

It is going to be BIG FUN!!The driving isnt so much fun,its more a experience,but when you finaly comes at Bern,the expo.....WHOE...WHOE...partytime...burpingtime...partytime...burp...burp...deadmatch...party...
They do not have any 4 star in Europe. They may still do it in France, but French 4 star is as weak as pi## about 95 RON. No 4 star in Germany at all, not that we will be going that way.
Even if you need unleaded for your Turbo, you should use the best quality at the pump, as they rate the octane different to us as well I think if you see French 97 octane UL, its the same as UK 95 UL.
Fun, Oh yes and dont even think about saying your posh leather bucket seats are unconfortable, compared to an original 44 year old steel sprung and horse hair bench seat
