Just a bit of a contradiction?
KOB has proven to everyone no need for him to un-do his retirement all because of you. [Freak]
I believe at finals last year he came up against some very stiff competition. I know Steve Mick broke out, and old man Crossfire Mike came out of the gates against the King with a 159.8 and then ran with a 159.9 for while before Tommy overcame him. Those are the two runs i remember most about last years 159.9 bassrace, besides me losing my window in qualifying. But Hank if you dont think there are other people worthy to compete against you best just take another year off and wait for the rest of us to catch up. [Laugh]

from the looks of the upgrades you've done I can see your build being able to break a 160 aswell in BR this year.

Should be a strong showing for canadians in bassrace at finals if I get my junk together and wangin.

I just think that the point hank is trying to get across is that nobody has ever made mckinnie do a 159.9 on the dot, or tied him at a 159.9.

Not to say that he couldn't do it, but it's just the principle of the thing I suppose.

Regardless, mckinnie was the king of bass before any of this 159.9 stuff started up, and he will always be the KOB, even in retirement. [Smile]

what you said initially clearly did not relay what you're saying now.. lets not back track here.

you literally were calling out a certain someone.
no need to try and make a name for yourself by going after the BIG DOG so to speak.. you do it on your own merits and accomplishments.

to make the comment "you had no competition" cause I wasn't around is BOGUS.. thats like a slap in the face to others competing.. you can try and cover it up with this other stuff but you have come across as very egotistical.. back up and re read what you wrote [Wink]

good luck to you in 09... I look forward to seeing the vehicle at SBN and elsewhere.. hope I dont see the attitude with it [Big Grin]

Man Man...

It never stops.
Why cant somebody be left alone in his deserved
retirement afterproving something year after year.

And EVERYBODY (even me) has its own personal goals.
There ARE people who had MORE Bass Race Points,
more Bass Race Wins, more of this , more of that.
All because its their own goal.
You cant compare that to other achievements.
At least dont do that please.

For example, if you do 159.9 everytime, what is already
impossible when I see your stats page, this
is insane, crazy, outstanding. But in the end,
its your own personal goal and not everybody may
share it.

I had my personal goals also.
In the important compettitions over here in
Europe I never was defeated. Basically what
Thommy did in the states, I did in the "rest"
of the world.
I never cared to become World Champ. I even was
more SCARED that an accident happened and I would have won LOL.

Bc there are always some things for a personal
reason. I had to stay below 10 000 real Watts,
didnt drill ONE extra hole into it for the install,
no foam, everything 100% removeable,
have to drive my car 30 miles a year, play
sound quality competitions, keep it below
the allowed maximum weight, drive it well over 130mph,
have it on display for my sponsor on car shows.
And so on.
I mentioned it somewhere before, I have another
super street car (trailered) and an Extreme,
(PS.:So does Thommy), what
I already tested over a 160 in BR, but I saw now
reason to bring ot out, or to be proud of that.
My own fault, or problem or decision.

You cant have anything so you decide what its
best for you.
And people should respect that and leave you alone
without looking for the direct battle all the time,
WHEN they think now its their time...

So let Thommy enjoy his retirement and enjoy your time
what you have now.

There is a SS5+ car in Germany what actually
played louder than Bob. 161,3. It was at my
own big event last year. But even this
car, or another louder car, was not able yet
to beat me in the lanes yet.
If you want (J/K of course) I use this example
everytime to let you know that there is somebody
who CAN beat you, if youre in the lanes. [Smile]
This will annoy you very quickly, I promise.
But anyways, I give you mad props for doing
the exactly 159.9 for many times now!
Good luck in the future!

Since I'm not a bassacer, I will speak in my field experience. I have been a "Street" champ for at least 4 years straight and wiping out my competition every year. Every year I hear the same story that someone(s) is building something crazy to beat me in BASS/MIDBASS/MIDS/HIGHS with clarity and no distortion but the same outcome. This year I have told a couple of people that I'm officially retiring from the street battle scene and I'm getting the same thing that don't do it because this guy is building something crazy and that I heard about it and that's why I'm retiring because I don't want to get my ass handed to me. I give these guys kudos for trying to beat me but I can't wait for every single statement"Someone is building to beat you" because then I'll never retire. KOB has proven himself in that arena for many years and kudos to him for doing it. Nothing else to be proven and everyone else is just going to have to work hard to make a name for themselves on their own not by using KOB.

Exactly!
"We" have to fight against a mass of new upcoming
people.
Instead of they looking what we ve done in the past
and understanding that we cannot, wont, and dont
continue for all eternity.

I formyself had the target to become german dB Drag
champ 10 years in a row. And in fact I made 12 titles
in this time (on the "side" 30 more titles in
different formats, european wide, world, whatever).
Bass Race in a row in the biggest class since it
is avalable here in Europe, was also a target what I dont
have anymore. Letz see what happens next here...

And YEAR AFTER YEAR (especially now when I have
my 10 years over) still people bothering me all
the time and trying to challenge me.

But I let them talk and think what they want.
I have something to show (well over 600
competitions and a sackfull of titles)
and some others have also something to show.
No need to continue when "we" decide its over,
and no need for others to bother us with their
eagerness.
They should go out, do their thing, and enjoy
THEIR time. When THEY are done, they will now
what "we" speak about now LOL...

Ü
MM [Razz]

PS. Only "real" target I have, is to
make the 5000 dB Drag Points full [Smile]
And then, lets see if I continue...

PS2.: What was the topic about again? [Smile]

Thank you Mister Pipo and Oki. I mean don't get me wrong, competition is good and I've been the type not to shy away from it and in many occasions I would call people out but not to past legends because it's not right and people viewing it from the outside might go against me. There was a guy called Big Wil and he was to king dinga ling here before I came along. When I was building he was the guy i wanted to see because of the street status but as I was coming close to completion, he retired (2003). I had to eat that and at the beginning of my crusade i was compared to him all the time and many times people would say "Oh but you never beat the man aka Big Wil" but that wasn't my choice and I hated to hear that but throught the years I made the name "Beast From Da East" way bigger than Big Wil through my own and not piggy back of ex-champs. If someone comes along this year and beats me then more power to them but as far as I'm concerned when I hang'em up, I'm done and people after me will just have to pay their dues the right way.

Good post Vic and Oki

yah because you are so close to thier stats with your upper 50's vehicle. i would have just liked to go up against the KOB thus why i posted this thread. i knew i would take heat for it but i dont care. u say anything about the KOB you are going to take heat thats just how it is. just like any other legend in the sport i just wanted a shot but hey im not getting it so be it.

i didnt build it just to go after the KOB. i built it to do a 59.9 he just happens to be the man at 59.9. so its not one of those things that its something me vs him.

and oki as for not being able to do 59.9's everytime this season ur right. i had just got my van done and went to that show that i did a 59.0 with a song that sucked royally and i had demoed all day on battery only, no alt charge. no excuses but thats why. now ive got it dialed in so everything after that show i should hopefully reach my 59.9 goal for every show even if my 2 alts i have now die i know ill be able to do my score..

bring the heat lol

sooo about SBN... since its inside are we allowed to demo or not?

Im guessing people will demo after each days competition, but most will not during the show.

You cant run your car inside, and all these big systems have so many batteries they wouldnt be able to play them with car off, and have a tiny little charger get them charged back up in time for the next run.

And I think these cars doing 160+ on music with doors open would be crazy loud inside the Ocean Center. I remember pulling up to WF in Tampa, I was parking my car 200ft from the enterance of the building, had my windows up in my Expo, and I could hear bass coming from inside the building. Turns out it was Johnny demoing his 16 12s and his van was doing like a 155 on music. I could only imagine what a 160+ would sound like outside the complex.

Hank, if you keep doing a 159.9 at all the shows, and win a couple championships, you will definately make a name for yourself. Just keep at it, the van is crazy, and since it can do a 159.9 you have everything you need to start winning. You definately have the ability, now just keep putting in the work and you will be up there with the greats, many who are the ones posting here in this thread.

Worst case, you can always go after Pipo, the Queen of Bass! Haha you know Im just playin with ya man, See ya at SBN, Pipo!

My goal in bass race is just pretty much not to blow my equipment up and eventually get in the 150 class for music otherwise just out there to have fun and demo some equipment.

the way i have managed to figure out how to get .9 every time i run is too bring ur score up as fast as possible but safe as possible so u dont bust but bring it to where it bounces from .7-.8 till the last 5 sec then turn it up one click or w/e u have too to bring it up that extra .1 db in the last 1.5sec i try to hold the fine line at .8-.9 by 15 sec into the run so im not trying to catch up at the end which is what causes people to bust out.

thats how i have practiced and thats how Tommyk showed me to bassrace as my teacher before the last 2 shows we went too. so thats just my suggestion. everyone bassraces differently

this is how i bassrace my crx and my van and it seems to work out well.

That's pretty much how anyone that's good at bassrace does it. Chances are if your bouncing all over the place and more than .3 away from a 9.9 with less than 3 seconds left you don't really know what your doing.
