It dosent really matter to me one way or the other. But we need to know what we can or cant use. Say I tune my box to the magic mike CD and then they say its illegal. Now I have to start over. retuning, find another cd then how do you or I know if it legal?? Go to a show and get DQed. Start over again?

well if the bassrace cd is needed then a lot of systems won't be able to playin the desired classes due to the fact that most of the songs are not well suited for all systems. In the south lil jon works out well. up north bass cds work better, not all systems play the same songs the same nor does every box design play every freq to the potential of every system.

I understand that Db Drag is Wayne org. and he has the final say but I have yet to see 1 COMPETITOR say that they would like any song banned. There is an old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

After thinking about it,i say let any cd be legal. If somebody dont like another person using a magic mike cd,have them take 20 bucks and go buy it for themselves. Its not like somebody running bigger and better amps, subs or what ever, its a cd they arent that expensive. If you aren't tuned to that cd rebuild your box, everybody has done that many of times. This is just my 2 cents, but oh wait i better save them 2 cents so i can buy the magic mike cd.

Ok here is a true senario me & Big oso were doing bassrace I used the MM song & broke out he was using something else & broke out after me. If i can do a max of 136 and compete in the 120-129.9 class I "STILL" have to get a good start and not fall behind or crank the volume to catch up which could cause a bust out. So can the song really be that helpful not really it's kind easier but without reaction still need to not bust out!

My opinion on the situation As a newcomer to the bass race scene and DB Drag in general:
The rules state "a commercially available music CD" This CD is commercially available and it is impossible to say that Dj Magic Mike created this song to circumvent the rules of "bass race"
I did use the song at this usac event this past weekend and i was stopped 15 sec or so into the run and was asked to show the judge the cd. When he saw the cd he told me that it was legal because it was commercially available BUT i know that that was usac and not Bass race. I did however tell him if you have a problem with it i can use something different it is not a must.
So IF this song is banned or whatever it is not going to kill me. I do agree that there are plenty of songs that are out there that can be used just the same for control in bass race. The song i usually use is just as controlable as the MM song and it has a totally different freq range. So yes if there are songs out there that are quesionable there should be a list but then again making a list of "banned" songs goes against the "run what ya brung" concept of bass race.

If you have a steady fre. and plenty of batts. Yes it is a big advantage. there isnt different fre playing and not as hard to not go over. If you have a song that is playing alot of different fre. then you have to really be careful not to go over. The only problem I see is we "might" see nothing but DJ mike at all the shows. People will start tuning to the cd if its got a advantage. I know I will.

The only difference that song has in my truck is
Magic mike 130-139.9
Song i use now (lower freq range) 120-129.9
So it is a matter of what class i am in with this song. Not being able to have an advantage at a perfect score. i can do perfect or close to perfect scores all day long with my normal song. It's called practice, practice, practice thats what i did.

would a rocket launch be illegal? it's the intro to a song.

i'd say any cd that has been out before bass race started then its okay. then all u have to ask about is cd's from 05 and 06 with constant bass tones, which there isn't really any i can think of besides some bass mekanik songs.
or a list needs to be compiled by the judges asap of which songs are illegal and if its not on the list then to bad.

Hehe David, concrete has nothing to do with Audio. It was not invented for being used in car audio.
Music CDs were created to "amuse" the people when they are playbacked through electronic and speakers and through the needed players. And what Music is, is a wide definition. Maybe we can ask Magic Mike what he meant with that song 15 ? "This is for the Bass Heads" "This is for the Bass Race?" Or what he says when we are trying to tell him that we dont acceppt his music compositions as music.
Please understand, I dont want to be Track 15s advocate, if it will be "outlawed", I will not use it. Period. But then we should look what numbers were done with it and they also should be removed, or? So the "others" have no chance anymore this season to improve their score with the suddenly outlawed track. At least in the next season the records, IF they are records, will be resettet?
I think its always a little bit about a record what can be set, even in Bass Race where everything is about control, but we have an "open range" also. Who will be the loudest ground pounder?
Ü MM (not THIS Magic Mike )

Also, I really don't see the relevance of when this cd was released. Just because it's been out for many years, doesn't mean it MUST be legal.
Concrete has been out for many years, how come you cannot use it in a street car? After all, it was out long before Wayne invented dB Drag Racing.
